Bol Bol's huge upside makes him the most polarizing prospect | 2019 NBA Draft Scouting Report

ESPN NBA draft analyst Mike Schmitz breaks down the strengths and weaknesses of former Oregon center Bol Bol, who Schmitz calls the most polarizing player in the entire draft. Schmitz says Bol’s only true physical comparison in the NBA is that of Rudy Gobert. Schmitz explains that Bol’s length, agility, offensive skill set and defensive potential make him look like the unquestioned No. 2 pick in the draft, but his lowlights show why he is far from a consensus top 10 pick. Schmitz projects that Bol could be an NBA All-Star, but says the red flags around his physicality, durability and activity are hard to ignore. Schmitz also explains that Bol has all the makings of a top-5 pick, with off-the-charts talent and as much star potential as any player in the entire draft other than Zion Williamson, Ja Morant or RJ Barrett.

@Gabriel El Leon He doesn't have particularly wide hips though which says that his body struggles to hold it's size, which will be a concern. His primary focus should be his ligament conditioning and muscular stability. If he can do that, he'll be in a much better place to put on a bit of size, and you can get a lot stronger without putting on a lot of weight.

He needs to focus on his prehab habits before he starts packing on weight. He needs a good base in place to ensure he doesn't get injured frequently and can then look at muscling up after that. I think his first 6 months in the league will be a lot to do with his muscular stability & ligament conditioning. I think we'll see him put on a little bit of weight in his rookie year, but I think year 3 is where we may see a big leap in how he fills out provided he doesn't spend a lot of time injured prior to that.

his best comparison is KD not Gobert, although not the same game, he could translate into that 7"2 center with handles

His Upside is Astronomical , no matter how you look at it. Manute, we Salute you for your Son picking up where you left off. Hopefully Bol Bol goes to a Really good Coach , and quality Trainers to Mold him into a Serious Force/Threat in the NBA. Especially imagine if he goes to work with Hakeem Olajuwon/Shaq/Ewing for Tips , as he gains knowledge and Bulks up , he gonna be Dangerous, because No one will want to run in his direction!!!

If he develops into a dominant player the West is going to be insane. As it is now 50 wins doesn't gaurantee you a playoff spot. He makes Denver a real powerhouse if he makes a big contribution.
