They have a catchphrase (cha-cha-cha) and the Bob Hope commonality that came up multiple times and the foundational core memory of of starting out with Liam saving Steffy from that bathtub and that too has remained as a constant reference point and yet they weren't endgame. Lol yeah...it defies all that we hold sacred in Soapieland. As well: Since there was a recast for Hope you also have the fact that there only Steam's memory montages can be used to this day - another classic trope and yet still... Unbelievable 😅

If Liam was mature, he would have told Hope and Steffy that he shouldn't be with either one of them until he learns how to be honest with himself. Cause this didn't start because of Bill and Steffy's machinations. This started cause Liam wasn't honest to himself about his feelings for Steffy while he was engaged to Hope. He also wasn't honest to Hope about how frustrated he was about waiting for marriage for sex and how their wedding was put in the spotlight for Hope's clothing line. If Liam would have just taken time away from both women and get his emotions in check, all 3 of them would have been better off and he wouldn't be so conflicted. But Liam likes having his cake and eating it too.
