*Stephanie Tries to Take Control of the Plot Away From Morgan* As much as I don't love the Morgan storyline, it's SO good seeing Stephanie back in the mix and driving the plot again! Her snooping around the beach house and going to the doctor's office are classic Stephanie moves. It's important that she be the active opposition to Morgan because she's the best actress on the show (and this storyline _desperately_ needs a strong actor!), it's completely within her character to be perceptive and deceptive, and because if Morgan is the new Sheila, then Stephanie needs to be her rival for control of the plot. Indeed up to this point, Morgan has been the one in control: she turned Ridge and Taylor against Stephanie, tricked Ridge into sleeping with her, and convinced Ridge to keep a secret from his wife. But Stephanie's moves in this episode indicate that she is trying to wrest control away from Morgan. This makes Stephanie and Morgan the active subjects in this storyline. Also this returns us to the ideal Stephanie/Taylor dynamic where Stephanie does the bad stuff so that Taylor can remain the Good Girl. One would expect this storyline to be Taylor vs Morgan but Taylor has always been a more passive character, constrained by the limits of her archetype. Thus even though Morgan is staying in her beach house, Taylor can't be the one to break in and snoop around, but Stephanie can do that for her. In a structural sense, we are back to the ideal framework where Stephanie is the defender of Ridge and Taylor's marriage, Morgan is the antagonist and threat to it and Ridge and Taylor are the beautiful super-couple object.

Yes! Stephanie was _so_ needed in this storyline! And her actions here stay true to that dynamic you mentioned which has been a constant in her relationship with Taylor (doing the active but questionable things for the Good Girl). However, the question is _how far_ Stephanie would go in this situation. She is about to do something that I feel is beyond the limits of her character.

Stephanie is usually( always) right about people.The viewers, many of them, understand her doing the dirty job because they already know she is right. Just to say Stephanie's questionable behaviour can be justified.

The moving on process on this show is almost nonexistent. He fell so “head over heels in love” with Becky after a few weeks, spent about 5 episodes grieving her, and now ready to jump his dead wife’s cousins bones. Are we sure he’s not really Eric’s son?

I thought he was soooooo in love with her and Amber was the reason they couldn't be together. Yet, he's all up in Amber's face dangling a life of wealth for her to come back..

@@Phillybags I watched that episode again - 3287 - and yes, Stephanie then too has let herself in while Morgan had been at the insemination clinic with Taylor. But I don't remember Ridge ever changing the locks. There was an episode when Morgan had called Ridge to the beach house because she needed a plumber because of the bathroom sink (3292)
