I love Bridgette. She is a sweet character. Unfortunately her being used by Deacon is the only way we could see her acting chops. As good as she has been the best of her talent is on the way to display. I had hoped this Bridgette had stayed on. There was so much they could have done with the Bridgett character.

Amber, who never so much as took one design class and who has no experience with fashion at all, much less haute couture: “*Bridget* is going to be the model for Ambrosia? I can’t have some unprofessional Beverly Hills student as a model.” Something I first noted in the episode where everyone went to Cafe Russe, but that was further reinforced in the last episode and this one, is that Whip is the only one who seems to see and like Bridget as an actual human being rather than an avatar for his own needs. Of course part of it is that he’s trying to annoy Deacon, but he seems to genuinely like Bridget. He thinks she’s smart and humorous. He knows she’s a “good girl,” but also remembers her story about sneaking around with her friends in black leather pants. He remembers her sparkling and dancing and “playing model” at the Forrester Christmas parties, something that seems to be a surprise to her family. In contrast, her own husband saw her first as a tool to get back at the Forresters, then as a means of his short-lived redemption, and now as the sweet but gullible cheated-on wife. What’s worse, he has no interest in getting to know her, and didn’t even before he knocked up Brooke. Similarly, Brooke looks at Bridget as her “sweet girl,” but doesn’t seem interested in her as a person outside that archetype. Rick just sees her as his silly younger sister. Even Amber tries to pigeonhole her as a Beverly Hills spoiled girl. It’s all somehow poignantly sad. When you contrast how little anyone seems to know her or care to know her with the moving and intimate way Sally spoke of Macy in the previous episode, the difference is quite striking.

Great point! Especially since Bridget and Macy are in the same "plot position" right now, the difference in POV is striking. Macy as the betrayed wife got a lot of scenes that highlighted her subjectivity, including solo scenes, while Bridget is almost given the Becky treatment where the whole plot revolves around keeping her _out_ of the plot. And yet JF is the strongest actress in this storyline. It should be _her_ story.

My sister used to think I was a kid at 17/18 , the social worker that she brought over to our house ( since l was living with her at the time) said to her "Your sister is not a child" , l was happy she said that to her.
