@@TriniT21 There will be a different actress playing Bridget (Ashley Jones) and Nick falls in love with Brooke before he ever starts anything with Bridget. But Brooke rejects Nick for Ridge. Nick will remain hung up on Brooke. Even though he will start a romance with Bridget. 🤷‍♀️😳 When Taylor returns from the dead in 2005 that will be trouble for Bridge. So that is the circumstances in which Nick, who is now involved with Bridget…. thinks he now has a chance with Brooke? It’s very convoluted, of course. Not good. 😮 It’s the same story all over again… all the men fall in love with Brooke…😜

The way Bridget fell as she was leaving the house was heartbreaking. It was like a second "humiliation" after the emotional humiliation she felt when she found out.

Jennifer Finnigan's acting is SO good in these scenes. It's so important to have a strong actor for these kinds of reactions and reveals. Even her physical acting - stumbling and falling on her way out/anxiously closing the shutters in the pool house - is so fluid and believable which makes the viewer feel her pain. Compare it to Adrienne Frantz's clumsy physical acting when Amber stumbled intoxicated into Taylor's home (which took you out of the scene and made you want to laugh instead) and you really see that this kind of thing isn't easy to do and requires real talent.
@annieo6527

So true! These episodes, starting with the reveal and continuing through Hope's birth and Bridget's "lndependence Day" are a real tour de force by Jennifer Finnigan. And, as wonderful as it is to see her finally be the center of the storyline, it makes one wonder why she wasn't the focal point _all along._ Instead, we had to endure months of Brooke and Deacon talking about their secret love while Bridget was strangely absent from the storyline or simply being portrayed as a cIueless little girl. I mentioned in an earlier comment that Bridget was almost given the "Becky treatment" in this storyline - a supporting character in a story that should have been told from her point of view. Now, at last, the POV is where it needs to be, and the storyline is suddenly much more compelling.

I thought it was interesting that it was the same present bridgit gifted her mom was also the means by which bridgit found out the secret. The closing of the shutters really stood out to me. Nice touch by the actress. I mean, I'm not sure how I would act if I heard that my mom talking to my husband about her carrying his baby... But this might be close to it
@FayeIL
@FayeIL 2 ай бұрын
@@TriniT21The shutters closing was such an effective piece of direction. One, you can see that Bridget is so overwhelmed that she needs to be alone to process this news (hence her yelling at Eric to go away), and any stimulation, even sunlight, would be too much - so the closed shutters are a form of protection. Two, her closing the shutters somehow reminded me of reading about s*xual assault victims who just wanted to be alone and away from everyone, because they felt a sense of shame. Of course this isn’t the same, but Bridget has been violated and humiliated by her own mother and Deacon.

I know the main event in today's episode is Bridgit, But.. I cannot let an opportunity pass to drag that bum Eric. So according to him, he can't ever be mad at Brooke bc she raised their spawn "by herself".. However he neglected to mention that she spent most of that time trying to get his son Ridge to raise them as his own, and he (Eric) allowed that mess. Brooke didn't have to raise those kids alone. She didn't want Eric and he didn't even make an effort to raise his own children who were right under his nose all along. He can't be mad at Brooke for raising his children, but he is always mad at Steph despite her raising their children and being a loyal wife to him.

I’ll just echo other posters’ praise for Jennifer Finnegan’s performance. She was so real and raw and good that it was actually uncomfortable to watch, the emotion was that strong. There’s a moment early on in the episode where she flashes back to Brooke talking to Deacon about carrying his baby and she screams, this throttled primal shout of rage and anguish and somehow protest, and it could so easily be over the top in the hands of a lesser actress. But she makes it genuine. JF ultimately got an Emmy for this group of episodes, and it was well deserved. I like that we see the anguish and breaking down of who Bridget was in these episodes, because it’s going to make her evolution and takedown of Brooke and Deacon that much more satisfying. Two small observations. One is re Bridget’s wardrobe. I’d previously observed that the costumers were putting her in more and more youthful, innocent-looking clothing to emphasize her naïveté. Today’s eyelet, simple white cotton frock, complete with unfussy hair and baby-doll pastel makeup, was the pinnacle of that look. It also helps underscore how blindsided she is by everything when she hears the news. Second, note that Bridget yells at Eric not to touch her. In three coming episode, she’ll say the same thing to Brooke and then to Deacon. I previously connected some of Bridget’s behavior to that of an assault victim, and not wanting to be touched is one such symptom. In this case, I think Bridget repeatedly ordering people not to touch her is a nice marker to show how violated she has been by these people.

Why are Deacon and Whip lecturing Steph about Brooke? As if they know her better than Steph does... Esp Deacon. One thing Steph knows is Brooke. 15:48... Steph is absolutely correct and echoes what I have been saying.. No idea how basic Brooke, with no loyalty to anyone but herself, can command such loyalty from men. Meanwhile, Deacon and Brooke make it sound like it was a one night thing.. Not FIVE /SIX TIMES in 2 different countries. Only place they didn't have s E x was in Deacon and Bridgit's bed.

One last observation- note that in her confrontation with Deacon, Stephanie first scoffs at Brooke by stating “it’s never her *intentions* that are the problem,” and then questions Deacon’s intent as well re keeping the “secret.” I thought this was a nice complement to the thoughts I shared in the prior episode about Deacon calling them good people who just made “mistakes.” The point I made was that it was what people did that ultimately defined their character. In Stephanie scoffing at their intent, she seems to be telling them the same thing.

I always wonder about such changes over the year. The show will introduce Brooke's cabin in 2012. Here, in 2002 Brooke's place has a pool area (Erica recently took Little Eric to that pool), but I don't remember any pool scenes at Brooke's place during the last decade (2014-2024) It is a pity that the Forrester pool set has been disbanded for good. Although the show later on has used Lee Philipp Bell's real life pool (scenes when Hope in 2012 almost drowned at that pool). But again, a place that we will never see again on that show because the Bell family has sold that estate and the new owner has completely demolished it.

Bridget does not want to tell her dad yet, but her actions must be a big red signal. If Bridget wants to be alone, she could have gone as well to the beach house (Deacon being at the office) or somewhere else, but she chose the Forrester guest house. Eric should be able to think that it has something to do with Bridget's husband (and so Bridget does not want to go home).
