@@mezzuna I actually didn't get his lesson - I just watched his video to learn it. Slowed it down to .5 or .75 speed then slowly worked my way up! I haven't purchased one of his lessons before though I'm sure they're great! He's an amazing guitarist.

@@mezzuna I can't remember if I played to a metronome or not, but I think I probably did. I know that I wore headphones to record this so that I could hear the simulated amp tone. Feel free to put a metronome to it and let me know if I actually keep everything right on time! haha

Are those Big Dipper pickups? My JM strat was the last one they made. Can you explain what you ran this through to produce that tone? Sensational playing bro.

Looks like they're Fender Pure Vintage '65 pickups! I had long wanted a JM strat, but the prices have gone up so much on the used market for those so I ended up going with an American Original '60s Strat. Ran this into my Amplitube on my MacBook via a Scarlett 2i2. Had the amp set to a default Amplitube Blackface style amp - think it's called an American vintage tube or something like that 😅and recorded the audio into Garageband. Hope that helps explain it!

At the time I recorded this, I only had the free version of Amplitube 4. Think I used one of the two American Vintage tube amps. Since this recording, I've upgraded to Amplitube 5 Max (it's got its share of bugs and quirks, but I've been enjoying it!)

Bold as Love is originally by Jimi Hendrix but then later on John Mayer did a cover of the song with his own twist on guitar and then a couple years back Jamie Harrison combined the two versions in his own cover

It hurts a bit to see Jamie Harrison credited alongside Jimi and John. John's version is distinctly different from Jimi's, but didn't Jamie straight up cover John's version? Also, there's an undeniable gap between the level of Jimi and John, both original and creative artists, and Jamie Harrison, an online guitar teacher.
