Seeing beautiful little Bridget so young and innocent, it's thought provoking that the Bells felt compelled to ruin Brooke with a raging libido so out of control that she'd take her own daughter's future husband without hesitation or conscience. It's sad that daytime drama was developed strictly from Hollywood's moral code without regard to the richness of seasoned, loving, lasting marriages. Instead, the writers never hesitated to explore every possible avenue to the character's breaking each other's hearts and souls. The closest thing to a lasting relationship was Stephanie and Eric, who were bonded by business and the family who ran the business. Sad really...the Bells apparently found endless profit in lust in the place of love. Too bad, a couple of good marriages contrasting with the runaway lust and licentiousness would produce a much more satisfying drama due to the differences in values and lifestyles. Sex sells, I suppose. But real romance from years of loving are more satisfying, as well as needed by us all. In contrast to the love stories with great depth from past soaps where conflict was resolved to the satusfaction of the audience. Like the Mac and Rachel Cory storyline of Another World of conflict, betrayal, forgiveness, bonding. You don't need an out of control libido with raging hormones to produce excellent drama.

Soaps were written for housewives, mostly in middle America. Hollywood's moral code? Doubt it. Soaps were created to sell soap, detergents to housewives. It was housewives who made Luke raping Laura on General Hospital, an epic love story. Don't blame Hollywood because housewives in middle America romanticized rape. Same with Holly and Roger on The Guiding Light. Hollywood companies are in busines to make money. If housewives. in middle America rejected Luke and Laura, that storyline would have ended.

Yes; I so agree with this!!! There was not one lasting marriage on this show; not one. It ended up being just about sex and love that came and went , came and went. There were no couples who were solid and faced life and all the joys and tragedies that ensued…together. Then they threw them into these outlandish storylines with everyone sleeping with everyone within the family. Brooke was only one offender; there were plenty more than her.

Even as a Brooke/Bridge fan I have to agree with you, you are clearly not just hating, that was facts. I stopped watching at that time of her and Deacon. I'll add, I think that they found something else that sells, not just sex. The world had really discovered how much we love to have someone to bash and be really disgusted by. To call trash. Having Brooke do that and the resulting commentary at the time? It was selling. We had real stars lives imploding too back then and people really loved to dump on them.

One really has to want to give up on an obsession for it to work - and it will really be hard if that obsession suddenly keeps throwing itself before your feet. Ridge soon will be done with his grieving and will be back to his prankster personality, making life/ love difficult for James.

The last word in this episode is spoken at 18:34 and the rest of the episode is just done with music and facial expressions until the episode ends at 19:17. That's FOURTY seconds where she captures us and effortlessly draws that scene out with just brilliant acting without even saying a word.

I've come to the conclusion now that 1 episode a day is deliberate to encoursge viewers to appreciate the content more. There is notably more chatter and anticipation about every episode now despite how it irks to have just 20 minutes to consume daily.

They said they were behind on converting the tapes to digital. Every episode needs 20 minutes for the conversion to happen (i.e in real time) and they only seem to be doing it during office hours. I just wish they paid a bit more attention to the quality because the video looks very washed out and soft. There doesn't seem to be any additional post processing done on the files (like adding some contrast, sharpness and saturation). Or perhaps the video tapes have degraded in the almost 30 years in storage. Who knows.

@@tropposteve4878 Hi Steve - I'm not the God of Tech, but I think the faded, washed-out look has to do with the low resolution of the files. If they were higher resolution (not 360p), the colour saturation would be deeper because there'd be more little pixels everywhere filling in the colour blanks. When stuff is uploaded in 720p (or even 1080p which they did a few times), the colour is immediately improved. Uploading in 720p or 1080p is never going to make the original footage HD, but it would be much clearer and more colourful than in 360p. As can be seen by looking at old Season 1 episodes that were uploaded in great clarity.

But the *drawback* with most of these *engagement rings* , the _women have returned them_ . Brooke returned Dave's and Ridge's ring and never accepted Connor's ( _I am not ready yet_ ). Taylor has returned Storm's and Ridge's first engagement ring. Still they likely can open up a jewelry shop. I doubt that Taylor has returned Blake's gifts (earrings, necklace) and Ridge often gifted Taylor jewelry too. Brooke hasn't just got gowns and lingerie either when she had been involved with Eric and Ridge. (but yes, Brooke could definitely open up a boutique with all the clothes she got).

I don't think that KB was pregnant at that time, she just had a baby in January (Alexes Marie Pelzer, born January 1994), the current episodes originally aired in May 1994. But yes, Sheila's temporary absence (leaving to take care of Sheila's mother) might have been because of a maternity leave.
