It was surely a part of it, but sorry... The biggest problem was that she knew that he will leave her anyway. She told him later on that she hoped that he wouldn't leave her in Paris. She tested him and he ran to Hope without turning back. He behaved completely differently after Hope lost her baby and asked him to be with Steffy. He was waiting for months instead of committing to Steffy ;)

My recollection is: the SAME DAY Bill told Steffy that he wasn't leaving Katie (who had just had a heart attack), Steffy moved on to Liam. (That was the SAME DAY Steffy almost drowned in the bath tub). Steffy IMMEDIATELY stopped persuing Bill after that, Steffy never STARTED any argument with Katie after Katie had the the first heart attack. It's Katie who could not get over Bill and Steffy's affair and constantly attacked Steffy. Katie was constantly starting arguements with steffy NOT the other way around. Katie even started an arguement with Steffy after mexico when the doctors said she could have a STROKE very easily if she got upset. Katie still came into Steffy's room to grill her. I don't know what show you are watching. What Taylor did was long after Brooke's miscarriage. This is the SAME DAY (or maybe the day after) Steffy is back from the hospital, Katie is saying " not only did your baby die, your marriage is also gonna end cause Liam was only here for the baby, hope u feel better" Brooke is a 50 year old woman who has already had 20 children for half of the men in Los Angeles. Steffy is a young woman to Katie and this is her first and only child. You seriously can't see there is a huge difference.
