God Amon is such a terrifying character. And the fact that this dude is the strongest bender we've seen under an Avatar makes him even better.

It still amazes me how satisfying Book finale seems. It's clear they didn't know if there would be a second season and I really respect that they didn't just leave us hanging like so, so many later shows that get cancelled on the first or second season, mid-storyline. (I blame production companies for the mess of instability that came later with other series.)

If you think about it, they are not really really exterminating the airbenders (unless they kill them) because they can still have children who will be airbenders.

And here we are, book 1 finale already. That last scene with Tarrlok and Noatak is sooo good, I agree that it's possibly the best send off for those characters

the first Book of Korra was really amazing considering they only had 12 episodes to introduce all the new characters and on top have a way more mature kind of story telling. I'm really looking forward to your guys reaction to the other season's. Especially season 4. I know most people's favorite is probably book 1 and 3 but mine is actually 4 cause it felt like a combination of all the Books that came before, in the legend of Korra.

And so endeth the first season. I gotta say, the resolution scene between Amon and Tarlok shocked me the first time I saw it, as well.... but I also thought it was rather fitting. What I found most interesting about it was that Amon's face at the end seemed to indicate that he knew what was coming, but he simply chose to accept it.... which I feel speaks volumes. What a way to go out with a bang, yet paradoxically with a whimper, as well.....

The first season of Korra, for a story coming off the heels of ATLA is as good as it could have been. The creators really built off their pre-established world in a meaningful way with as much resources they got. With the audience getting older with the series you can tell there were able to move the show in a more serious direction from kids TV to Teen audience, Korra being an angsty Teen compared to Aang who was still a child. Alot of the nitpicks people have with Korra are pretty valid all things considered since they were making it with 1 season in mind at the time. The ending in particular, with how Korra lost her bending and in the same episode got it back, while also getting into a romantic relationship with the guy she liked, was a very be all and end all everyone's happy now ending and if the story concluded everyone would be satisfied. All-in-all though was nice a love-letter to fans of the series who missed ATLA growing up.

Amon was such a cool and compelling antagonist until the blood bending reveal, now he's just a salty blood bender. The end of the season feels rushed like they had a vision but only had 12 episodes to work with. Also I don't like how quickly amon was defeated after his identity is revealed, he was still a capable fighter but no he lost to 1 kick. And I don't like how quickly korra got her bending back, I was hoping for a season then she gets em back, could have been interesting. Also the romance is awful. Other than that great season, was going strong till the last episode

I don't understand why we should waste an entire season watching Korra trying to bend, when it's quite clear her problem isn't the physical side of bending, but the spiritual. And people meed to relax about complaining about that romance stuff. It's just a subplot not the end of the world.

Personally, i find the self unaliving ending kinda dumb. At that point, if his borther's plan is to start over again (from the sounds of it, not to equalise people again), the act is kinda unnecessary. It feels like it was only done to be a bit more edgy. Like that whole act feels like a big thing, but for nothing.
