The fact that she was supposed to pick up her sister from the airport would have instantly made me look into her passing further. A good majority of people would have canceled or waited until after their loved one visited so that they could see them one last time if they were gonna take their lives. When you love someone that much, it's less likely that they'd make plans to pick their loved one up if they planned to take their life and if it was something that someone decides last minute, even in that autopilot state of mind, they'd most likely let them know they weren't going make it to the airport.
@daddy1234zz

That’s what I’m thinking. There’s no way she would have committed suicide if she knew she had to pick up her sister. Speaking for myself and experience, my mom committed two weeks after I had visited her from boarding school. I have attempted before. But never hours prior to someone visiting me. I can’t do it either cause I need to know my cat will go to a loving home. And all my friends refuse and I do mean refuse to keep him for two days cause they’d get suspicious. So I don’t believe she just went and committed suicide just hours before she was supposed to pick up her sister
@storylockett2418
@storylockett2418 6 ай бұрын
@daddy1234zz My condolences. I hope she's found the peace in soul that she couldn't find in life. I hope I'm not being offensive by saying that. I tried as well and was almost successful. My mother realized what I was doing, though, and medics brought me back from the edge. I had finally felt at peace, so I can't even begin to express the despair I felt when I found myself waking up and I had never said harmful things to my mother before but in that moment I ended up screaming at her that I hate her. I took it back and apologized almost immediately afterwards, though. I told her I didn't hate her, but I do hate the fact that she forced me to continue breathing. I told her I realized she didn't want to feel the suffering of losing her child, but I have been talking about wanting to retire from my body since I was at least 5. That my suffering has only grown with each passing day, and I just finally wanted to be at peace. I have had physical and mental issues all my life. I was passed down some pretty cruddy genetics that have had me in and out of the hospital most of my life. My bones and muscles are frail. My spine broke almost completely in half, and there are cracks along my whole spine. My bones shift out of place. I lose the ability to move my legs at times. My hands will suddenly stop working. I have weird crud going on with my eyes. One of my pupils on either side will expand, and then suddenly shrink in the middle to form a figure 8. Just a bunch of different things going on at once, and then I have a few different mental things going on up there, and I just really hate myself all around. All I do is rack up medical bills and can't function correctly, and I feel like I'm a burden, and i don't understand what good it's doing for me to be here. People want me here, apparently though, so who am I to question their desires, I guess. Also, I have a kitty baby as well, and it's because of her mainly that I find the strength to hold on. I took her in. It's my responsibility to not abandon her. I don't want her to feel unloved either. She sits by the door, waiting for me to return home from work each morning, and that makes me feel bad as it is. Apologies for the rant. I was gonna say, even when I was in that auto pilot state of mind, I still had the thought to leave my house and go somewhere far away where none of my loved ones could find me. I didn't want them to find me like that, and I didn't want to be stopped. Obviously, it didn't work, but still. Those are two things that usually go through someone's mind during that time. Even when we aren't being "logical," we're still logical, lol.

Dmoestic violence in india can get you in prison actually, and society here usually looks down men who hit their women. A relative I knew abused his wife, who divorced him but chose not to press charges because of lengthy court proceedings (one of the major problems in india is, we have good laws, but with the milords in supreme court who take a month and a half vacation while there are 100,000 pending cases, those laws are rendered effectively useless), and he was treated as an outcast. In this particular case, this guy got away due to his connections and of course, sallu bhai 😒

@@arunakoyanbron8927 A man who hits his wife IS looked down upon but sadly in the West India (I'm from mumbai!) have this mentality where we don't interfere with other family's drama. I've heard my mom talked to my dad about our neighbours from few floors below or the watchman hit his wife but that's it. There's no consequences. No police called. No warnings. Nothing. Just a mention when the topic is brought up. My friend grew up in a toxic household. I asked him why doesn't he call the police. He said the police have been called a few times and they have VISITED. Unfortunately the police are more into sort it out yourself, divorce isn't a good option blah blah blah and the domestic violence cycle continues. The cases are not taken seriously.

I believe the dad paid off some hit men to do the job, and he was outside to confirm the job was done. I mean he already found ways to get rid of “problems” and I wouldn’t be surprised if the authorities were partially in on the cover up, he already got away with just a fine. Wouldn’t be surprised if years from now there’s a big take down of the Bollywood mafia and the dad’s name is somehow mentioned. Corruption in Indias police force is rampant from what I hear. No fingerprints in the room and refusal to test dna under her nails, ruling no foul play in 2hrs, no scene pics, no autopsy, it’s either incompetence or cover up, or both.

I’ve told all the plans to my mum and I look excited (at least in front of my family). WHY WOULD I DO IT ON THIS DAY?! Wouldn’t I at least deny going to the airport to pick my sister up if I was planning to take my own life tonight?! It would be too cruel to do it on the same day as her arrival. I would prefer doing it before she’s here considering I won’t get a chance to take my life if there are two people constantly around but I would most definitely not do it on the same night. That’s just too cruel for my sister. NO ONE could ever do that. Not even a super depressed person because that person still thinks of their family members before they would think of themselves!

I appreciate you analysing my daughters case some of the facts are misplaced in events timings secondly re facts jiah never tried to harm herself, and the letter was written by jiah we were not aware of many incidences that took place in her life during her relationship only jiah knew it. The writing was hers. Jiah never had a fight with mom and had no childhood issues. The defence had nothing better to their defence but blame the dead and the family to escape prison. Jiah never had eating disorder she never smoked and she was not Depressed. The fact is the the courts were managed and they brushed the case without investigation all the evidence were destroyed and police did not hand the evidence to investigating agency therefore the prosecution did not present the evidence to the court. The system failed to give justice to the innocent soul

Funnily enough I have auditory processing disorder so my brain struggles to understand words and I'll sometimes hear things completely wrong or not at all cause it turns into noise soup. Names are extremely hard because my brain tries to associate them with a word I know the sound of to try and hear it better, and it'll sometimes replace those names with the associated word that is easier to hear (unfortunately happens way more often with names I didn't grow up hearing in Midwest Whiteville, but I'm working on broadening my brain's capabilities) but onto the funny part: The word his name is associated with atm is genuinely sewage, and it's such a new name that its all I hear when she says his name. I travelled to Mumbai from London on early morning of 28th April the day the court had reserved to give the judgement. I was waiting for this day throughout my flight I was thinking what will be the outcome of long ten years of my fight for my daughter jiah khan justice. I reached the court around eleven thirty and 12.30 was reserved for the judge to read the judgement, with in few seconds , “The acquittal” was announced, this itself was totally predictable no one in the courtroom seemed to be surprised and shocked, I was taken aback for few seconds that how come “no charges at all,” but then I soon realised that it was actually the correct decision of the court. Because the prosecution had not produced any evidence of suicide, so there cannot be an abetment of suicide. But the investigation should have been one of murder and the charges accordingly should have been of 302 of IPC. This case was on the wrong track from the very beginning all the evidences were pointing to homicidal death. Sooraj Pancholi was accused of the wrong crime to start with. How can it be possible that police accused him of the crime when they had no evidence. All the evidences that I had given to CBI like forensic experts reports that pointed to murder were simply ignored and were never produced before the honourable court by the prosecution. CBI just followed the police charge sheet who had predetermined the outcome From the time jiah was found dead in her apartment. The entire trial was a mockery of the judiciary system. The court was following a higher court order, pre trial, the path they predetermined for trial court to follow to give an acquittal to the accused only to close the case. Given the fact CBI who was asked to investigate the cause of Jiah’s death by the honourable Mumbai high court, CBI had absolutely no evidence for abetment of suicide, so the case had been on auto-pilot for an acquittal from the start. Within two hours without investigation the police declared it was a case of suicide and blamed sooraj for abetting jiah, and charged him for abetment of suicide under section 306 of IPC. It was a false enterprise and distraction. In long ten years both the agencies of India the police and CBI did not find one single legally relevant evidence for suicide, it requires convincing evidence of an accused having directly driven the victim to commit suicide immediately before the act, and prove any abetment of suicide allegations against the accused sooraj pancholi. The burden of proof was so high, all the parties involved must have known the outcome but none of it made legally or rationally any sense. Ironically, if CBI had any intentions of getting Sooraj convicted for abetment, the only place where, in theory, they could have found the evidence was the BlackBerry Messenger communication, which could have easily been retrieved from Jiah’s and Sooraj’s mobile phones, but the real phone of jiah went missing the ligature jiah was found with also went missing, all the main evidence went missing from the court. When I had submitted world renowned forensic experts evidence along with the picture of injury marks on Jiah’s body and neck which pointed to homicidal death to the court, there was silence and no such evidence were produced by the prosecution. It seemed the courts hands were tied and lips sealed. Another evidence that we tried to produce to the court was ignored for example Jiah’s and the accused both phones GPS history and chat of the accused Sooraj’s phone would have revealed his actual conversation and whereabouts at the time of Jiah’s murder. One of the manipulation of “facts” in CBI’s chargesheet was that they kept people and Court keep believing that they have done the investigation and there was nothing left but conveniently failed to produce every evidence to the court even the last minute chat between jiah and the accused sooraj pancholi. This is the kind of manipulation we had to deal with over the last 10 years. During the trial it was soon obvious to me that CBI and the prosecution had been compromised, because they never established the actual cause of death. Let me repeat this: The actual cause of Jiah’s death was never established. No evidence were sent for forensic analysis by the court, Instead, the CBI simply used the preliminary finding of the police appointed post-mortem report as the cause of death “due to asphyxia”. Over these ten years We had pointed out multiple failures and contradictions in CBI’s narrative, to the high courts, exposing their suicide story as medically and forensically unexplainable. The nature of the ligature marks on Jiah’s neck is not consistent with the pattern one would see in a suicidal hanging. There was one oval injury on Jiah’s neck for which nobody has ever come up with a credible and plausible explanation. Instead, CBI own forensic doctors did not conclude their reports because they did not get the ligature to verify whether those injuries were consistent with the soft ligature instead CBi relied on the testimony of a police’s made up break up bouquet story to make this as a fake suicide story. CBI conveniently followed the Juhu police pre-determined theory of suicide. The way CBI conducted the investigation was like reverse engineering to show the desired outcome and get the deal done. Sooraj was an accused and he lied through his teeth and both the agencies throughout honoured his lies for reasons best known to them. My daughter jiah who is no more to speak for self was blamed, because that was very convenient for both agencies to blame the dead. Not only as mother but as a woman I feel disappointed that yet again the system that we expect to protect us and serve us justice has failed us and made a mockery of its own system. We feel very disgusted at the fact that Sooraj has shown absolutely no remorse whatsoever and has lacked even one iota of grace. He has gone on the record to re-write history and put words in to my daughter’s mouth with the sole purpose of saving himself, knowing full well that she can no longer speak for herself. He has insulted her and my family without a single sign of honour or decorum. We as Jiah’s family have fought for ten years and spoke for jiah standing alone against the system and the abuse jiah was inflicted by the accuse. The inequality and injustice that we have experienced through court is not explainable. To be clear and for the eternal record: my daughter did not commit suicide and was much loved and adored by every single member of her family and anyone who she had come in to contact with. So gentle was her soul so generous was her spirit so kind was her character that by all accounts including her own, she had everything to live for. We are particularly shocked and sickened by the fact that Sooraj has tried to capitalise on her death by cashing in on the infamy and the theatre that he and his family have produced on the back of this tragic case. The fact that he handed out sweets outside the courtroom illustrates this and sums up his mercilessness. Sooraj will one day have to grapple with the demons that he walks with. I have made peace with the loss of my daughter and I leave to God to administer justice on whoever murdered my daughter.

I'll never understand why these people are relevant in the industry & why they got so much support by Salman & others while not many stepped up for victim's family. I absolutely love your podcasts / YT videos of bringing these true crimes to our knowledge. I also am in such awe of your eloquent ability to give a story to the victims, your animated facial expression and how your husband collaborated with you with all the burning questions. You are talented and a true gem to a platform that is overly saturated with true crime podcasts. I do find it heavy, however, that most of the stories you have covered gave so little justice to the victims. Most of the perpetrators were either not charged or let free with a small slap on their wrists. It gave so little relief for listeners who yearned for true justice but consistently failed by the judicial system in various countries. I so hope that one day people would be charged with the crime that they committed and hopefully, in time, could reduce recidivism or even discourage heinous crimes these monsters commit. As a victim of domestic abuse I think it’s so important that you highlighted that we shouldn’t question why people stay in abusive relationships. You just…. do. It becomes so normal/you are so gaslit that you don’t realize it’s suffocating you. It’s helpful though (in a terrible way) to see stories highlighting the progression of what abuse can look like. My heart goes out to this young woman who wanted to live out her dreams and was taken advantage of.

Sometimes I'm so ashamed of my younger self, because I used to think like that. "Oh, how can anyone stay with someone hurting you?!" - you just don't understand it. You don't get it. And you think if it ever happened to you, it'd be different, you'd be different. My mom (and my brother and I) were abused for many years by my biological father and I could never, ever understand why she stayed until HE left. I couldn't get it.. even with her explanations. Then it happened to me - and I get it. You love this person, they're crying, they're saying they'll change and a lot of the times they do for a little bit, but it's never for longer than a little bit. It can be so incredibly hard to pull yourself away from that, even if you're in danger and it's so incredibly hard to explain to anyone. I'm ashamed but I also feel so lucky that I got out relatively quick, just a year and that I had no children with him. It could have been worse and it is worse for so many people. But it's just one of those things that's really hard for people to understand who haven't been through it. And in a way, I don't blame them because I didn't understand either and I had no ill intentions whatsoever with wondering why people don't leave those kind of relationships. 🤷🏻‍♀ But I'm glad that more and more people are understanding that it's just hard to understand and that you can question it, but you won't get any "good" answers that will satisfy you and you'll just end up frustrating yourself and the person you love who was/is being abused.

yes! a way i try to get people to understand is by using the context of family. No matter how much your family hurt you and you dont like being around them you just cant leave. You know nothing will happen if you do, the worst is being cussed out but you just cant leave. Now add on the fear of being stalked and murdered now think of whether you could leave an abusive relationship or not.

Exactly, a big misconseption about suicidal people is that they are selfish and that they WANT to be found by family members after hanging. Also, suicidal people do not do it 'randomly'. They contemplate about it for months so that, I hate to say it, they find their "perfect window moment". Why do I call this specific situation "random"? Well in my eyes, it seemed rushed. Especially knowing that her mom would come back anytime & she HAD to pick her sister up from the airport. These are premade plans for the future which IS- way too unusual behavior for a suicidal person to do. Typically, the choice of hanging is also more 'secure' rather than just a scarf. I think suicide should be fully ruled out of the discussion.
@sera7483
@sera7483 Жыл бұрын
Suicide isn't always rational. In times of acute emotional anguish, you don't think about these technicalities. She had just been dumped by a guy she was unhealthily obsessed with after getting an abortion, her career was on the decline and she had experienced childhood trauma (read the early 2000s sexual assault case she was involved in). All of this is enough to send someone over the edge. Her bf was a loser and a playboy, but he didn't kill her.

Ever heard of Kangana Ranaut? She's now a famous Bollywood actress. This dad tried to take advantage of her when she newly arrived in Bollywood and was just 17. He got her a house on rent and secretly chased her room mate away, then got a duplicate key made without her knowing, tried to drug her, chased her vehicle with her his car physically harmed her by twisting her hand. She had to hide in a directors office due to him. He thought he will get away but did not know he was dealing with fire. She thought him a lesson he will never forget. She got him arrested and has cops teach him a lesson. She was so bold that she went on to reveal everything about her life, including him, what he did and her relationships and fight with Bollywood in a TV show called Aap ki Adalat. It's in Hindi though and may have been translated in English in some new articles. It's the most boldest interview that any actress in the world may have ever done till date. Check out her story. It's very inspirational. She single handedly and the 1st woman who took on nepotism and on entire Bollywood. Bollywood hates her and nobody from Bollywood supports her but people are just amazed by her. She is known to be direct and will take no nonsense. Her English interviews are also awesome.
