Bollywood can still make movies like Dangal, My name is Khan, Lagaan, Chake De India etc. Movies with content and entertainment. But now most of their films are made just for entertainment. There is zero content. People are fed up with CGI stunts, overloaded action, unwanted item numbers. Its so repetitive. Malayalam filmmakers make movies with content and they make films with their own vision. They follow their heart. Malayalam films primary audience is people of Kerala. Market is very small. Filmmakers always have to come up good content. For movies to be a success.

For a non malayali watching the movie , there is one major drawback. Fafaas slang is unique (mix of kannada and malayalam), thats whats make the eda mone tagline unique. Watching a dubbed or subtitled version you may not pick or enjoy that part. Also it will be difficult to remake in hindi with the accent

Bollywood has already made remakes of Manichitrathazhu, Vellanakaludenadu, Ramchiravu speaking, and many more. Even they are doing Ayyappanum Koshiyum😢. Some of this movies are connected to Malayalees daily life events, once it get remade by other state people, it loses its soul. May be for an other language viewer they can relate this remakes, but not for the Keralites. There wonderful movies in Hindi, that cannot be remade with that beauty in other states with totally different cultural values and life styles. Aavesham is just a commercial movie, not something different. Look at Thaalavattam, how badly bollywood made it. But I am happy they have never touched the movies like, Chitram, In Hariharnagar, Thoovanathumpikal, Dasardham.... like movies😅

Bollywood succeeded in remaking some Malayalam movies only because even the director of the remade movie was also a Malayali Priyadharashan . It is important to match the script and undestanding the sense of humor or feel of the movie. Only the same regional person can render it.

I think there is one thing that needs to be clear. Malayalam films primary audience is Malayalis abd we like our film makers to take it slow and spend time in building the character arc. We love other cultures and people enjoying the movie but enjoy it for what it is. If you want fast movies you can check out Telugu and Tamil movies
