Wow! They’re all incredible. Bundu, it was a stroke of genius putting Vasiliev and Tsiskaridze back to back and saving them for the end. Two completely different body types. Both great artists. The contrast between the two made their talents shine even more..I never had the opportunity to see Tsiskaridze in live performance, so those clips are greatly appreciated. The speed and precision of those turns finishing with the chaînés... stunning. I have seen Vasiliev perform, and his strength and control never cease to amaze. The image of his cambrè back went right into long term memory. Fantastic post. Thank you!

For me, Nicolai Tsiskaridze's dancing leaves me completely spellbound in awe. To have such gorgeous physicality and magnificent legs combined with stunning technique, charisma, grace, fluidity and those soaring leaps and soft, precise landings, all in one performer is mindblowing.

Очень благодарна за эту подборку выступлений великолепных артистов!!! Сравнительно недавно смотрела записи концертных выступлений под живую музыку (оркестр был на сцене) гранд-артистов балета: все продумано, прочувствовано, воплощено с использованием годами наработанной техникой, врожденным и отточенным артистизмом! Волшебное действо!!! Очень хочется видеть таких мастеров на каналах культуры и не только - это наше мировая сокровищница искусства танца! А ведь по молодости в советские времена смотрела все телевизионные передачи с балетными постановками. Хорошо, что балет был в почете, и можно было многое увидеть! В театр выбираться получалось редко, но посчастливилось быть в Большом Театре, Кремлёвском дворце, Театре Станиславского и Немировича-Данченко, Театре Оперетты!

Although I love my Russian trained male ballet dancers , I can name quite a few out side of Russia trained dancers who at their prime are or were on par technically - Kimmin Kim , Ethan Stifle , Carlos Acosta , Friederman Vogal , Osiel Gounod, Rolando Sarabia , Fernado Bujones RIP , Steven Mc Rae ect. . This kind of blank statement Russians are better, I refuse to buy into that kind of prejudice !!.

He was trained Vaganova in Korea and I am sure the Koreans added some of their own home grown technical teachings, thus a plus !!! , Also most of the dancers I mentioned ( Cubans especially ) have had Vaganova training out side of Marinsky halls . Не знаю, чем он лучше, например, Ивана Васильева. Цискаридзе из плеяды таких как Плисецкая: прекрасный танцор и прекрасный болтун. Чтобы стать "великим танцовщиком" нужно прекрасно танцевать и очень много чесать языком: Ах-ах, я не такой как все и т.д. и т.п. Конечно, не такой. И другие - тоже не такие, главное не столь светятся в болтологии.

Lantratov is very impressive - such perfection and artistry in every move! The way he emphasises his poses (in Don Quixote) is sculpturally beautiful. A rare joy to watch!! Skvortsov's one of the most elegant dancers I've ever seen, he's the epitome of a classical prince! Such dignity, grace, finesse, style, and he has absolutely perfect proportions and is very handsome indeed. 💔 Skvortsov's breathtaking in Swan Lake, Pharaoh's Daughter, Raymonda, Giselle. 🤍🤍🤍 Lopatin's technique, fluidity, softness and artistry are admirable too! Thank you for this video!!! The Bolshoi is known for their male dancers. Now they have a stable full!! They are so young, some will become superstars. I particularly liked #3 and #4. #4 danced the "Coppelia" section in true Danish style, feather light and high. Ivan is, what are you gonna' say, is always Ivan. He does not play a character, he is always Ivan. However, I adore him. I have seen him live three times, once in the Paris production. It was like being at a rock concert. People were going nuts. Ivan literally jumped through the curtains for his bows. I have not seen video of Nikolai T. He is a brilliant dancer. His take over at the Vaganova School was political. Russia is grooming their new generation of sensational dancers. Bravo!

And now the moment of truth. Russian male ballet dancers did improved dramatically after Baryshnikov and Nyreyev started dancing abroad. They have always been like that. Both Nureyev and Baryshnikov wanted to dance in the Bolshoi theater, but were not hired because they were not as good as Vladimir Vasiliyev and others. They were phenomenal for the western world because there were rare ballet tours from Bolshoi and Kirov ballet in the USA and Europe then.

Vasiliyev and Lavrovsky were two of the great early Basilios, but who were the others early on? Recent great ones I would consider I. Vasiliev, Lantratov, Chudin & Lobukhin. (Although Lobukhin actually came from the Mariinsky, he is a quintessential Bolshoi star, imo.) What are your suggestions? Thanks for your time :)

The dancers are all remarkable in their own interpretation of the dance. The difficulty of execution....one remarkable toe fluttering leap after the next. I like some of the dancers very much. The vision of Ivan Vasiliev never leaves my minds eye. Ivan set the standard so high. When IV dances, he floats effortlessly. Executing each nuance of the dance with ease. For me......there is only one male principal dancer in the world Ivan Vasiliev💜😊

@@bellabana he Is a great joyfull dancer But i feel like you. Myself, I love slim, elegant dancers, men, women. Thikaridze altghough excellent dancer does not grab be, too big, too masculine, more athletics body type than elegant refined ones
