Great battle report, really enjoyed it. Now, I don't want to be that guy who quibbles about rules but... I'm pretty sure you don't get +1 to your save from open ruins. It's only enclosed buildings that get the extra protection, but also take the extra hits and pins from HE weapons as a trade off. If I'm wrong I'd like to know. Because I'll have been playing the game wrong for years!

Thank you Danny and no you’re right, I just classed all the buildings as giving +1 as even damaged/ruined buildings in Normandy were made into strong defensive positions by the Germans so just went on that theme etc.

Excellent as ever! I have noticed from your last Battlereports, that you are playing along the long table edge. Maybe a scenario, where you have to play along the short edge will get your troops faster in action and give them more space to maneuver. Keep on making great Battlereports!

Earned a new sub! I love how you have a regiment that every unit is from. Any way I could reach out to you and assist with me building a historical list?
@dazvanderyoung1911
@dazvanderyoung1911 Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much and sorry for the late reply. As far as historical lists I use the old school 1/20 ration that Peter Gilder pioneered and are used in Rapid Fire rules. Basically 10 men equals a company but the make up is the same as a section would be. Also stick to historical weapons and troop types. For example a German company of 8 or 10 men in Normandy would be armed with 1 x SMG, 1 x LMG and loader (possibly 2 x LMG’s if Waffen SS/Panzer Grenadier) and the rest K98 rifles and possibly one panzerfaust. Not all armed with MP44’s etc. If you look for Rapid Fire order of battles there should be quite a few examples on line. Hope that helps a bit.

Exceptional terrain and figures. I also really like the pacing. It's nice not having to sit through a 2 hour battle report. Just a couple of things I noted: 17:47 You have to issue a run order to enter a building. D company wouldn't have been able to advance into the building and fire shots. 26:35 Reinforcements entering the table can advance or run. The Stug III could have fired at the men in the building, or even the Churchill. 28:03 Vehicles can only reverse in a straight line. Looks like you did about a 45 degree turn. Also, remember only one unit can occupy the floor of a building. A lot of people house rule this for friendlies, but the 1" rule should still apply. Has to be 1" between all units. Even the vehicles like the Churchill. Finally, vehicles cannot capture objectives. The Stummel would not have captured the bridge. Still be a German victory though.
@dazvanderyoung1911
@dazvanderyoung1911 Жыл бұрын
Thank you Justin glad you liked the video its appreciated. The advance into the building is something we’ve probably done at the club a couple of times and I’ve just stuck with it, but your right about it having to be a run order. As for the Stug entering, it was part of the scenario that any reinforcements would enter at the end of the turn and do nothing only activating the next turn, giving the chance of a British response first if they got the first order die etc. Overlooked the reverse rule though, ‘doh’ 👍

@@dazvanderyoung1911 thank you for the information. You're right, the white walls really do help with the lighting. And that's a great thing because it really shows off the quality of your miniatures and terrain. If you're open to suggestions, I recommend you drop announcing which die is pulled because - IMHO - it is very repetitive and is subsequently demonstrated by the action you explain. I look forward to your next episode. Cheers!

Love the camo pattern on your german armor! Any good resources you would recommend for painting up some good german camo? Thanks in advanced :D
@dazvanderyoung1911
@dazvanderyoung1911 Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much its appreciated. as far as the camo pattern goes I look at a lot of 1/35 scale model sites and magazines as the modellers who contribute are on another level, but their schemes and overall are good to go through and get ideas from. For the Germans I do use AK Dunkelgelb and modulate it in lighter layers using my airbrush. The brown and green I use Vallejo Air rust and light green. Once the basic camo is down I do lightly drybrush over the whole tank with Tamiya buff and Vallejo pale sand. The following is a list of the paints I use for painting my Panthers. Hope it helps. Also go on You Tube and search 1/35 scale modelling which shows using the powder techniques over gloss varnish etc. Hope this helps. Undercoat Tamiya NATO Black Base coat Tamiya Dark Yellow First highlight coat AK Dunkelgelb Light base Second highlight coat AK Dunkelgelb High light Camouflage pattern AV Model Air Light Green AV Model Air Rust All over light dry brush of Tamiya Buff All over edges light dry brush of AK Dunkelgelb Shine All over edges light dry brush of AV Pale Sand Light edge chipping using AV German Black Brown Wood equipment/handles Basic colour AV New Wood Highlight colour AV Cork Brown Metal tools/fittings Basic colour AV Black Grey Highlight colour GW Leadbelcher Road wheels GW Stormvermin fur Highlight edges colour GW Administratum grey Exhaust pipes and other metal bits such as jack and wheel braces AV Black grey or Black brown Highlighted with GW Leadbelcher mixed 2 - 1 AV Model Air Rust Enamel Washes Mig Brown wash for German yellow vehicles - pin wash Tracks = AK Kursk Summer Earth - AK Africa dust (lightly applied 10/4) - rainmark effect (lightly) Powder = AV Natural umber

do not know what you mean, needing a seven, when a dice has only six side's.
@dazvanderyoung1911
@dazvanderyoung1911 Жыл бұрын
When any score to hit with modifiers adds up to 7 or more you need what’s called 7’s. Now on a D6 this is impossible so what you do is roll a D6 as normal to hit, but if you roll a 6 you then roll it again needing another 6. If you get a 6 it’s a hit but roll anything else and it’s a miss.
