Thank you very much 👍 I realised after I’d made a few rule mistakes but it was too late to re-do etc. I realise how hard these videos are and take my hat off to you and others who make it look and sound easy. I usually f@@k up on the rules because I’m concentrating more on getting the ‘shot’ right 😂 Going to invest in some better holders and tripod for my phone and iPad which should help as well as enlisting the help of my wife again, who despite moaning like mad at first did enjoy it at the end, even though she constantly took the ‘p**s’ off camera 🤔 Next game video will be July time, but visiting Normandy again in June so should get to stock up on ideas and terrain builds for future scenarios 👍

Thanks Martin it’s very much appreciated 👍 I got an auto You Tube email yesterday with a different comment from you but didn’t get chance to log and reply but have seen this one and note its been edited, but if you are Martin Cameron that’s absolutely fantastic as only a couple of weeks ago I was chatting to Gabby asking if he’d heard anything of how you were doing up in Scotland as the last I’d heard was you’d moved back and had set up your own furniture making business. I have tried finding you on Facebook in the past and often wondered if I’d bump into you at a show etc. Lost contact with John over the years as he changed jobs and wargaming took a back step for me due to work and its only since the dreaded ‘China Virus’ that I got back into it as we couldn’t go anywhere so started making and painting again hahaha. If you are on FB I’m on as Daz Van Der Young. Either way if it is you I hope you’re doing ok and it was great to hear from you after all this time 👍

How large are those vehicle models? I’m wondering because I have a 1:76 size Sherman and I’m starting to enjoy this complicated board game xd
@dazvanderyoung1911 Жыл бұрын
The vehicles in this video are 1/56 scale made by Rubicon, although Warlord also do them commonly known as 28mm scale. I used to game in 20mm (1/76) and my tanks look tiny now, but I do like the larger scale as I can spend more time on the modelling side and use methods I would do on a 1/35 scale tank etc. The game is quite easy to get to grips with and the dice movement order system is great and much better than ‘I go U go’ that most other rules employ. Don’t be afraid to incorporate ‘house rules’ as well. Another You Tuber ‘Cinematic Tabletop’ does some fantastic videos and effects and has a video on their house rules and its great.

I'll have to check but we always played it that if the pen value of a weapon makes the score needed to be a 1+ or better (so an auto wound) that its still a 2+ to wound regardless. Also, negative mods to hit for a sniper I think are only if there are pins on them and if they move. All other mods for range, unit size and cover are ignored. I'll double check
@dazvanderyoung1911 Жыл бұрын
You are right, I’ve made quite a few mistakes when videoing battle reports, usually because I’m concentrating that much on filming and commentating that my head becomes a shed with the rules hahaha

Great stuff :) The 88 HE hit has already been mentioned. You didn't fire the MMG on the StuG though - are you channelling Richard over on Bring & Battle!
@dazvanderyoung19112 жыл бұрын
Cheers Baz 👍 and yes I have subscribed to Bring and Battle who along with Tabletop CP and Kitchen Wargamers inspired me to have a go at battle report video’s. I realised after I’d made some rule mistakes but it was too late to go back and re-do etc. One thing I’ve learnt is how hard these videos are and my concentration is more often on getting things in shot and being a bloke I can’t do two things at once (according to my wife) hence I f@@k up on the rules 😂 I am enjoying doing them and hope they at least give others some ideas on the rules and table set ups etc. 👍 As for the Stug I imagined it closed down going into action so didn’t use the crew gun shield LMG and they didn’t have hull mounted ones etc.

@ChrisS-fh7zt2 жыл бұрын
Nope if it's within 12" on in then it automatically fails. Now if he ran then yes he couldn't shoot but advance you can. Hope this clears it up for you.
@dazvanderyoung19112 жыл бұрын
Yes Chris is right the sniper can advance and shoot and the scope is deemed useless at close range etc. 👍
@chrisking13342 жыл бұрын
To clarify: Sniper can ONLY use his scope on a "Fire" order (i.e. he's stationary). If he "Advances" he (and spotter) can fire weapons as normal, with none of the sniping advantages. If he uses his scope on a "Fire" order and the target is found to be within 12", it does fail.
