Nice work Ste. I have built a Rubicon Tiger 1 and a Opel Blitz. They are a little more fiddly because they have a lot of separate details. But they are much higher quality than those awful Warlord/ Italieri kits. Save up some Blisters so you can add windscreen to your truck. In the Opel it had a template so you can cut the right shapes.
@OnPointHQ2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Anthony, much appreciated mate. I've looked at the Rubicon kit and cab see that there is definitely a difference in the quality of kit compared to the M10s that I'm working on. You're definitely spot on about the amount of extra bits and pieces, lots of scope for building variants. Thanks for the windscreen advice, I did wonder if anything like that was included in the kit 🙂

Happy New Year Ste. Glad to see you back with Bolt Action. Looks like an interesting project and I’m looking forward to following your progress. I am almost through a complete clear out of my wargaming stuff. The early WWII French went without ever seeing the table and my ACW and AWI are almost all gone! Too many projects, too much to paint and not enough gaming through lockdown convinced me it was time to get back to basics. I’ll be sticking to small projects from now on and so your vids are be perfectly suited as inspiration. Cheers Keith

Happy new year Keith, best wishes and I hope you're well! The project has really got my interest and it feels good to be back with Bolt Action. Crikey, that's quite the clear out! Strangely, I was talking to my gaming buddy last week about streamlining the projects that we are working on. As you mentioned, too many projects on the go can really demotivate you and you just end up not working on anything. At the moment, my main focus is the Mechanised platoon and my Landsknechts 😃

Cheers buddy! As soon as I saw the theatre selector for this, I was really interested in doing something with it. It's very infantry light at the moment so would probably struggle in games of Bolt Action but when I expand to 1500 points, I aim to add a few more infantry squads 😃
@redcorsair142 жыл бұрын
I love the completed models, but ug Rubicon instructions are horrible. I was putting together an LVT2(A) and have had to put things together in sections working on a part until I got to where the instructions are unclear and then go on to the next section. Once all the sections are together roughly then go back and figure out how the unclear parts fit in the bigger picture. Very nicely done. I am slowly working on the Armored Infantry platoon as well as a Marine landing force for the same reasons you mentioned in the beginning of the video. A lot of expensive reference books and hours of research videos on proper TO&E and tactics later I started the first models.
@OnPointHQ2 жыл бұрын
I've heard both good and about Rubicon kits. Having had a look at the truck instructions last week they look a bit involved but I assumed that was due to the four different ways that it can be built. I've spent years building Warlord/Italeri kits so I'm looking forward to a bit of a change! Cheers, it's a bit of a small start but there are some really fantastic and interesting theatre selectors in the D-Day book and I can definitely see it being expanded up 1500 points! I always enjoy the research part of the hobby but choosing a scheme for the infantry took a few days 😃

Is it okay to put a artillery spotter as the second person in a sniper team because they both get positioned pregame if you add the cost of both a sniper and artillery spotter?

You could possibly house rule but I would probably say no. Both spotters would be trained in different ways to complete their individual role. It's not beyond the realms of possibility but probably for home brew rules 😁
