I like Shutzen as skirmishing infantry. The free lmg lets the squad reach out with those 5 shots even more than a BAR

I would also like to recommend Mongolian cavalry as a type of skirmish infantry. They get the normal cavalry rules such as more movement and the recce rule. But they also get to fire rifles from horse back (24inch) instead of the normal (6inch). They also are tough fighters so they can fight in close combat if needed.

Bo I have a Question about Pioneers/ Strompioneers for the German Army. They are Mostly Veteran, 5 - 6 Man Teams in the Horb. But I have seen you also Recommending the SS-Pioneers that can be Taken Regular. How to make the Choice, if I take 'em Veteran or Regular. Does it depend on the List, Points and what they need to do - Or are there some General Thoughts what would be best. Thank You!

regulars saves you points, veterans are more survivable... a matter of which taste you like i guess

@@boltactiontutorialsbybomor3846That is what I expected. Thank you. I will try it out and see what sticks.

I have said this here before, but I’ll say it again. I think Japanese grenadiers are slept on real hard. If they have hard cover, they are scary to get in a firefight with. Even if you try and assault them, they end up being a top tier melee unit. They will trade up eventually, even vs vets. If terrain is close enough, they are horrifying.

Skirmishing normally isn't a kill mechanism. An opponents have to play into it to present killable targets. Some other good skirmish vehicles - T-26A, Vickers 6-ton

Thanks for the helpful advice. I use a lot of skirmish inf in my lists and have found the end game rush and use of ambush to be very useful. IMO the HEER schützen squad may be the best skirmish unit because of the free LMG for each section.

thanks for the tactics review! with the limited number of turns in Bolt Action, are skirmish tactics meant to be cover fire for assault troops or a main strategy for whole army?
