Sky News host Andrew Bolt exposes the alleged atrocity committed by Lidia Thorpe’s Indigenous clan during Australia’s colonial era.
“Will Lidia Thorpe apologise for that massacre of Aborigines by her old tribe?” Mr Bolt asked.
“Will she pay reparations?
“Or are massacres of Aborigines only bad if they were done by whites?”

That's the problem...aboriginals have 'oral history'. If Jimmy Great great grandfather tells a fib to Jimmy great grandfather, and he embellishes on it, by the time it reaches Lidia it becomes a land of milk and honey and the people all hold hands and jump through the looking glass in peace and harmony, when the reality is they were slaughtering each other with great gusto. Proof in point: The ongoing violence and tensions in the isolated communities between tribal groups and even kinship groups...favoured weapon is the white man's metal axe (it doesn't dull too soon after a few bones get chopped).

Here's an example of their "peace and harmony": "“The natives to the south eat human flesh. It is said that they engage in regular human hunting parties for this purpose … It is even said that they roast and eat their own infants, if they succeed each other too quickly. Only last year a woman not far from here did it, and when reproved for so doing, by means of an interpreter (for they speak a different language), she was surprised at being found fault with, as she considered the roasting and eating of her own child as something quite natural.” (Rev. Louis Schulze, missionary, “The Aborigines of the Upper and Middle Finke River: Their Habits and Customs”, in Transactions of the Royal Society of South Australia, vol. 14, 1891.)"

They did have crude weapons, nothing superior, despite how history is now being falsely re-written. And no they didn't invent anything, or anything of significance to the western world today. It was the white settlers that traded with them, upskilled and educated them, married and shared their wealth with them. There is very little evidence provided historically, and from my studies, that indicate any of these tribes invented anything significant. But I can argue their history is rich and there are talented and inspiring individuals in their communities. Self-identifying Lidia Thorpe isn't one of the.

The Aboriginal at that time to survive kill their own babies Deliberate infanticide existed throughout Aboriginal society, and it was practised by nearly all of the Aboriginal tribes in Australia. “Horrible tales were told about it. R. Oberlander was shown a woman who had murdered ten children.” Elderly women from the Dieri (Diyari) tribe admitted to South Australian mounted policeman Samuel Gason “of having disposed in this manner of two to four of their offspring: in this way, about 30% of new-born infants perished at the hands of their mothers in the Lake Eyre district”. Among the Narrinyeri of the lower Murray district, more than one half of the children fell victim to this atrocious custom”.

"Elderly people who could not keep pace with the younger members of the tribe on their nomadic wanderings in search of food were also killed. As James Dawson observed, “When old people become infirm, and unable to accompany the tribe in its wanderings, it is lawful and customary to kill them … When it has been decided to kill an aged member of the tribe, the relatives depute one of their number to carry out the decision. The victim is strangled with a grass rope, and the body, when cold, is buried in a large fire kindled in the neighbourhood … Very often the poor creatures intended to be strangled cry and beg for delay when they see the preparations made for their death, but all in vain. The resolution is always carried out.” (Dawson, op. cit., p. 62.)

Good to hear someone eventually bringing the truth about the tribal history of the original indigenous Australians more commonly reffered to as the "Aboriginals". As with all tribal societies be they in Asia, the Americas, Scandanavia, Africa, Arabia or even Europe and for example in the U.K, Scottish clans etc. These rivalries between tribes/clans often extended to land grabbing, livestock rustling, kidnapping for ransom, even worse kidnallping for the slave trade. More often warfare between tribes was always a matter of control of the strongest over the weakest a trait that extends through all of God's kingdom's man and beast alike. Tribalism then, as it still does today, extended the world over and not just part of "New Holland" or "Van Diemans Land" names given to what is today is Austalia. Accordingly inter tribe or clan rivalries were always a part of the history of the ancient indigenous people of Australia who migrated out of what is now known as New Guinea across the Torres Strait into Australia where they existed and coexisted to some extent with an unknown multitude of similar tribes/clans. A tribe can in its simplest term be regarded as people generally of the same family that travel about or settle in groups for protection. From time to time these small groups meet and seeing the incommers as a threat for what ever reason engage more often in hostilities till either one side run away or were incapacitated and taken prisoner either to be kept in bondage as a slave or exterminated and in some societes simply eaten. There is nothing special about the people's of Australia today widely referred to as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, all those claiming decent today from the original tribal groupings must accept that inter tribal genocide existed for most part of the 40,000 years since the very first human set foot on the shore of Northern Queensland or anywhere else on the great continent of Australia. So there , get used to it, accept that history is the past, stop ranting, whinging and asking for payouts for what never happended. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gaOvhZhnlJ6tqdE&ab_channel=rich963

Should we get out a map from 1788 and re-establish the Nations and boundaries from then, and have a world wide settling of scores and reparations? Would a different year be more suited to restore things to (and who would choose the year)? People have always conquered and oppressed different groups. We ALL have ancestors who were oppressed, dispossessed, and enslaved. We can’t change the actions of the past or atone for the actions of our ancestors. We should recognise the past, but work with what the situation is now, and strive for a better future. A future of racial apartheid and anti-democratic principles is not the way to create a better future for Australia. Vote No.

The Aborigines fought each other for scarce resources before Europeons came to Australia. We have plenty of evidence of war shields and fighting clubs. There are cases of cannibalism as a grieving ritual and for sustenance among tribes that lacked meat/fat. There are cases of infanticide for the purpose of cannibalism. THe ratio of men to women in some tribes was 3:1. Penicillin saved many Aborigines from strep throat which causes scarlet fever. Aboriginal life expectancy has steadily climbed with the European presence in Australia. Cannibalism also existed among the Maori and Papua New Guineans. Join the dots.

The "Battle of Bloodwood Creek" is an event that occurred in 1863 between the Gomeroi and Kamilaroi groups in New South Wales, Australia. It's not typically referred to as a "massacre," but rather as a conflict or battle. The Battle of Bloodwood Creek involved clashes between these two Indigenous groups over disputes related to land and resources. The details of the event may vary in different historical accounts, but it is generally understood as a violent confrontation that resulted in casualties on both sides. I wonder if any reparations have been paid? Of course all aborigines originated, migrated from South East Asia with many different clans and cultures making the trips over tens of thousands of years. I guess we all came from somewhere. Eventually China is going to invade Australia, maybe the land councils can fight them off.......

Can we say that if Europeans hadn't been in Australia that the Japanese would definitely have installed themselves ; they were kinda cruel and the Borneo indigenous people despised the Japanese. Today we live the card we've all been dealt , we make certain we don't rewrite our history these days and I thought we were bending backwards already to address past injustices . We accept their victimhood claims every day on ABC Radio and 3cr . We accept their victimhood when they are in the jails also when their children roam unsupervised at night in some towns . ....as a Kiwi who has spent a great deal of time in Australia over many years, it's a shame to hear that my beloved Aussie friends are more and more experiencing what we have in NZ with our so-called indigenous moaris. At least your Aboriginals have been there for thousands of years, our lot only a few hundred and way less than 1000. In re-writing a more convenient history for themselves the moaris would like everyone to think that they were a peaceful culture. Nothing could be further from the truth, they were slaughtering each other constantly, they were not a nation, they were a bunch of tribes living a stone-age existence. What's happened as a result is that they have been given money which has given them power, which in turn is dividing the nation and has created a victim mindset. I can see Australia going the same way and you don't even have an imaginary treaty to go by. Good luck !

Australian Aborigines migrated in 3 waves starting about 40 000 years ago the last being 5000 years ago. The original Aborigines made it all the way to Tasmania then the land bridge disappeared never to reemerge. The second wave arrived about 15000 years ago and were a bigger and stronger people. They have found several sites on the east coast where whole tribes where clubbed to death. Eventually the original Aborigines were only left in Tasmania and the islands in between. There was a great documentary on this in the 90's on either the ABC or SBS. As for the peaceful mainland Aborigines, if you read the books by the early white explorers they were able to pass through tribal land often trading things like axes for food or the location of water unless they had aboriginal guides. In this situation if the guides where from the wrong tribe they would be attacked. As for the Tasmanian Aborigines, the arrival of the white man finished them off mainly through diseases. In an effort to stop the diseases , isoation camps were set up on a remote island, most who went there died there. Similar camps were used successfully for white people in other breakouts. There is still debate about if the camps contributed to the death of the Aborigines or if their immune systems didn't stand a chance against unknown diseases. If you're interested in that kind of history there are some great articles on how the silk road introduced disease to the east and the west in small enough doses so when the 17th century trading boom by ships started there was not the same impact as opposed to what happened to south sea island nations and the americas who lived in isolation

Lydia before she tell lies should educate herself without The European and king the Indigenous will not have survived without crops and livestock who bring them to Australia. They struggle to feed themselves they will not had last until today without European and these Kings she hate. When Europeans first settled in Australia in 1788, they encountered an Aboriginal society of almost incredible barbarism and violence. This was the reality of what they found. The reasons for the violence and barbarism of Aboriginal society derive entirely, or almost entirely, from one factor alone. All of the Aborigines of Australia were hunter-gatherers who had not domesticated livestock nor grown crops for food. As a result, the lives of the hundreds of small tribes that constituted Aboriginal society were engaged in a never-ending struggle to find what food they could from what little existed on this continent. Directly because of this central fact, it was absolutely necessary to keep the size of each tribe small enough for its members to be kept alive by what food and other sustenance they could find. It was therefore absolutely necessary for them to avoid adding any excess mouths to feed to the limited numbers who could be kept alive by the methods of hunter-gatherers in the Dry Continent. They did this by systematically eliminating the excess mouths.

It's a shame that same multiculturalism has now been turned on its head to forment division and ethnic/racial strife. Peace and harmony? Not for the littlest natives. I'm a descendant of one of the first settler families in Queensland There were five Prussian Lutheran families that settled at Zion in Nundah intending to evangelize the Aborigines. Many years ago before this came out in Pauline Hanson's book, I researched my family at the Queensland State Library. Original documents written at the time said the missionaries had to protect their children so the natives would not kidnap, kill and eat them as they did their own children. Convicts who lived with Aboriginal tribes have testified to the extreme violence even within tribes and families: rapes were common, women were treated horribly, beaten and even killed and old people or disabled were abandoned to die agonizing deaths. This would explain why there was a estimated quite small population of only 3 million when Europeans first settled in Australia. Any Aboriginal was fortunate first to survive baby and childhood, then if a woman, to child-bearing age and into old age. The Aborigines of Australia should be thankful for their forebears coming, with most now being mixed European and Indigenous. I think they all need to accept and deal with these terrible crimes their ancestors committed on each other before we can ever move forward as a nation.
