I, like a lot of people did not like trig, so we didn't bother trying to learn it. If it's not interesting or useful at the time, we don't care. Later on in life we figure out that we do need to know it so now it's suddenly interesting, because we need it. Keep smilin Lee, your the teacher now. lol

I enjoy seeing the practicle application of mathmatics. You did a great job of explaining the steps and showing the results. I didn't pay much attention in high school geometry class because I couldn't see the use for it at the time. I thought this was a good series. Thanks for the video!

Lee for me its the subject that you are covering here matching a bolt hole patterns not the thumb nail ! There are fewer people interested in turning tapers then making bolt holes patterns > but the taper turning is great ! Thank you sir for all your time and hard work that you put into this channel and for covering the subject at hand .

I can't speak for everybody, but I sure enjoy your content, I appreciate what and how it is presented. As far as the one doing so well and the other not so well, I suspect it's because figuring the taper on the lathe is pretty straight forward, bolt hole patterns a little more complex. Also at least for me, I seem to need the bolt hole pattern solution more often that the taper calculation. Keep up the good work

Good set of vids lee I think the taper setting vid was lathe specific and the matching bhp appealed to anyone with a way to drill holes not many people have to machine really accurate tapers thanks for the time and effort you put into the videos👍👍👍👍

Mr. Lee - I saw the title on your video for determine a taper and I thought I will have to make a note because if I ever DO have to create a taper I’ll definitely need to review your video. But in the meantime I’ll just fast forward through it. Then I got interested on the process and ended up watching it intently. Thank you for helping a old man (dog) learn a new trick.

I, for one, enjoyed your taper video. Any vid with a sine bar, or shop math is great.

Hey Lee. I just wonder where the sine of 180 came from since we are talking about a 360 circle pattern?

Very informative. Thanks.

Thanks for this series. Where did you get the first formula from {B = D * Sin(180 / N)} ?

You will teach me trigonometry whether I want to or not. 😉 The point where I would lose out is with the center punch. I never can get it right on the intersection of the lines. What makes people choose to watch a video is a mystery to me. I had one that I figured was just routine and it went to thousands of views and still get views and it has been at least 4 years. If you ever figure it out please let me know maybe you can work it our with trig.

I think you will find the second line of that 'proof' has an error; it should be 2.400 * sin(36)
