In winter last year they came up right close . Ive witnessed pups around recently and adults. But to get them to come up is near impossible. They stay right back. Ive whisteled early morning and during the day. Its ALWAYS as soon as it gets pitch black at night they come out of my limestone quarry. I dont want to use anything higher than my 22 magnum on my property. Any suggestions mate? I have a button whistle and a locally made tenterfield from goulburn NSW.

@@djdanzy G'day Mate, no mate i have run out of callers mostly run out of deer antler which is what i used as the horn BUT in a few months, i will be making them from different Aussie hardwood and just waiting for some parts for my wood lathe. As for your Foxes have you already taken wish shots at them? if you have a fox never forgets and it will be the scent, sound, sight, just like if you wing or flick sand into the face of a fox on a missed shot spotlighting it never forgets its what we call an educated fox from a wish shot you know! the ones that bolt on the first catch of the spotlight, get your self a dog squeaking toy you know one that your dog plays with? and it sounds like a squeaking mouse? we call it a coaxer make sure your clothes are clean not with moms smelly soap powder but washed off all your scent and soap powered scents, make sure your scent is not travelling into the wind to the fox (don't call from the same stand you always call from) use the button caller except cup your hands over your mouth and open and close them so they call sounds like warrr..waaarrrrr then hold open your hand and them make it screams at a high pitch AS soon as you see the fox swap to the dog toy and start hand pumping it they should bolt in as long as they don't spot you . we are or very close to pups being young adults and starting to understand as with the rains will come new season grass and rabibits, rats, mice will be on the move. with new season pups, I use a raspy closed reed caller and replicate geeking its fox talking. hopes this helps all the best Danz

Just a tip for your calls The whistle is supposed to mimic a rabbit in distress so try a few short bursts without the long trailing whistle at the end. If you get the attention of a fox don't call again until it starts moving in the wrong direction or loses interest but even then just a couple of short bursts to peak its interest again and if they are close switch to a quieter whistle or try and mimic an injured mouse with your mouth. search the web for distressed rabbit and mouse calls and listen to real examples it will help you with bringing in more foxes

Thank you so much my friend. Sure did eat well. I’ll be heading out next weekend. We definitely are lucky living our life with passion towards what we do. Bless you 🙏🏼
