Glad you’ve stuck around for so long. I’d like to bring some test drive videos back. Trying to get caught up on some work first though. Some things are certainly fine to just feel the amount of torque you’re turning. However for something like cylinder head bolts, I always use a torque wrench.

Hi Rock, watched your video on the Bombardier quest 500 repair. I have a similar 2002 Bombardier quest 650 with a low end engine knock under load and at startup. My question is, how much work is the engine removal and where are available parts located. I cannot find the major parts such as rebuild kits. I’ve worked on many vehicles but this is my first shot at an ATV.

Same make and model but I have a fast idle issue, cleaned carb, new carb to engine boot, adjusted throttle cable to max and idle adjust backed off to not even touching, still idling too fast to shift gears! I'm at a loss as to what to do next, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! BTW I just found your channel and watched your whole video on the Quest!
@kevin64-ul9fn11 күн бұрын
i just found my second one that had that issue. it seems the throttle cable for some reason shrinks and it pulls on the carb end. i had to take the thumb lever on the handle bar apart and with a burr bit i ground a noch in the lever where it contacts a pin so it had more play and your then idle screw worked again. hope this helps. usually it revs up when you turn handle bars hard if this is the problem.
