Just a testimony, I was homeless due to addiction for 5 months. While in & out of homeless shelters I was introduced to Bombas socks. Now that I’ve been clean over two year & getting on my feet Bombas socks is all I’ll wear.

The fact that they actually designed special Shirts for the needs of the homeless is so incredible. They could have just donated crappy tees, but their thoughtfulness is so loving.

They didn't do that because they just felt some deep desire to donate to those in need. They did it because donating actually brings more money to a company that does it. The whole ' every 1 out of 6 is donated to charity ' has been done before , and they know it brings positive attention to their company. and will make them more profitable, especially in the long-run

He got 17.5% of a company that was already off the ground making ay least 400k a year. For 200k it was a no brainer with his connections he made millions for minimal cost. Because he was Damon was already in that industry he had the eye to see the risk vs reward. That’s why these sharks make so much money. They get up in running business for pennies on the dollar. But at the same time with their connections the company makes a lot more money.

Yes I noticed that too. It really does make a difference in perspective. Homelessness isn’t their identity, but an experience they are going through at this point in time and space.

I can almost garuntee that retailers who distribute their product sell to consumers whom have no idea they are even giving socks to homeless people. Damon on numerous occasions has said that they value giving clothing to homeless people more than they do about actually growing their buisness. Stop trying to discredit the kindness and service good people are doing

Daymond’s best investment yet. I love how they didn’t cheap out on the t-shirts you can tell that’s a quality comfortable shirt that they will actually wear. No cheesy branding just a simple t-shirt that anybody could wear. Love this company and the vision, very happy Daymond invested.

3:05 - 3:09 Daymond showed he is a true boss. He made the entrepreneurs realize their CFO is irrelevant and possibly not needed in the future.

No, he's a shrewd business man, he knew the CFO would push back and give a worse deal. He pressured them into accepting the deal without countering again. It works but it's not a good way to go about doing things.

@@mohammedomer3798 I mean in hind sight you can say that the valuation was accurate. But realistically, would they have had this same amount of growth without the investment from Daymond? You can argue yes or no. Bottom line is that they would not have had the same capital, nor the same wisdom/mentorship without him. So yes the valuation can be accurate, but it may not have been realistic at the time.

I love these socks! They're so comfy, fit perfectly, and are cute as heck. I had cleaned out my sock drawer doing a Marie Kondo declutter, and tried a bunch of different socks to replace my old worn out ones. These were the best! Now I buy these for athletic socks and nothing else. And the fact that they donate so much to the community on top of having such a great product makes it even better. Sure glad Damon stepped up!

I literally have 10 pairs of these at home. And my whole family wears them. amazing socks! Never knew they came from shark tank. These guys run a great company! They are hands down the most comfortable socks I own. Sharks are more concerned with lining their pockets then giving people jobs... makes sense.

Hmmm $9 socks, $5 margin, $4 cost, doubled to $8 for the donated meaning $1 margin on each pair. 225M revenue meaming 24M pairs of socks sold, 24M in profits, operations over 8 years averaging 3M in profits each year and 500k for the 17.5% owner Daymomd John. That doesn't sound like a lot.

Things like this and Scrub Daddy have really nice and big revenue numbers but they usually don't have a lot of margins ;)

I feel like background is everything. Damon only shark with true experience in clothing…maybe Lori kind of as well. Other sharks are in tech and toys. Damon was the best shark for them as well.

I'm wearing Bombas I got when I was homeless. They have a good long sock for boots in the winter and good low cut sports socks for the summer shoes. This shark tank blessed me and many more in the Memphis and Chattanooga area.

Just goes to show, success doesn't equal omniscience. People often become successful in a very narrow domain by solving a specific problem... and then after they become rich due to that area people assume they know everything.

I love Damon acting like he's so magnanimous when the fact of the matter is, none of the sharks will take on a deal unless their gonna make money. Helping people is way down the list after profits.

BUT, its incredibly difficult to help people if you're losing money and go broke. I give to charity with no expectation of return, but a business? If its not profitable, it makes no sense. Profits also tell you if you're delivering something people want or just wasting your time.

I guess you look for ways to lose money.The fact of the matter is being that close and seeing the appreciation of those in need can impact change people .Everybody has to start somewhere. Don't hate.How much charity work do you do a year ?

I am currently wearing a pair of Bomba socks, a Bomba t shirt, & a pair of Bomba panties, I got through a homeless church organization. And I love them. I suffer from Autism, & all their products are very soft & have no irritating seams. Thank you . And be blessed.

Got a pair from my dad that he got free from a thrift store around March '21. I don't wear socks but have been using one of the Bombas effectively as a nightlight shade. 😀
