I have a sweet bombay cat. She just turned 21, no signs of poor health yet. I couldn't love her more. I will be devastated when she passes. Hopefully she has a few years left. She is cuddly, talks all the time, and she has the softest fur ever. I got her when she was 6 weeks old. I am her mommy. Her solid black fur has lots of gray in it now. She def l9oks like a little panther and slinks around like one too. Bombay are the best cats ever. A true source of joy.

I adopted a rescue cat a year ago and I have only just realised he’s a Bombay. He’s so funny and such good company during lockdown. Very smart, very vocal and very cheeky. More like a dog at times. 😻 He’s worked out how to take the bath panel off the bath so he can go spider hunting. Loves a chat and a tummy rub.

Oh my goodness same!! When I adopted my cat they had him as an American shorthair in the paperwork but I soon realized he was different from other cats, now I realize he is a Bombay! Weird shelters don't seem to know this breed. He is so smart and affectionate. Yes totally more like a dog then a cat.

I have a Bombay cat named Grimm. He’s very attached to me and loves cuddles. He just turned a year old and he is already bigger than my 2 year old cat! He has completely black whiskers, paw padding’s, and the inside of his ears are gray. He’s a scaredy cat and his meow still sounds like a kitten, he also walks panther like and chatters when he hunts. He is the softest cat I have ever felt, follows me around everywhere. He has the most handsome round face and his eyes are a beautiful golden orange. He is by far the sweetest cat I have ever had and I’m so lucky to have gotten him for free.

Just had the fortune of having a stray Bombay come to my place, fed it for 2 months and it always stayed near my door, took him in, he's by far the most intelligent cat I have ever owned, he anticipates where things will be when playing rather than chasing the toys, he's got the most diverse vocabulary of any cat I have owned or known, from type of meow (from a quiet meep to a full fledge LOUD meow), he lets me know what he wants from me :)

I was blessed with two one cool evening I went to let one of my house cats out to use restroom they want use litter box they will let you know to go out , but I open door and one ran pass my feet so fast and straight for my house cats food bowl it was hungry... most kind loving not scared kitty st all it from finished eating and I let it out to make sure it used rest room figuring it would be gone by breakfast time . But it was still there I let it in to come eat but not only did it come in but it brought a friend, or sibling along with it ... I said to myself if these cats don’t leave in day or so I need to find the owners . So they were still there For immediately took to vet to see if they had owner but no chip , next I immediately took photos and plastered them around everywhere , listed it on social media but no one ever came forth . I left Ed them free to leave but they have never left Ed my home and it’s going on 3 yrs now and they are free to leave but now it would be so heartbreaking because even though they belonged to someone I am still their mommy and will always be their mommy this is their adopted forever Home , I was blessed with them for all the right reasons . This hone would be empty without the both of them and their furry adopted siblings would definitely take it just as hard as I would . We are at the time of all our lives that they chose us as their forever family and I don’t want it to be any other way .. Even though they were not given or sold to me if after all this time I would not let them go without a fight for them ... They are our family and two of the most beautiful black gold eyed babies ever , sweet and loving .. But the Best part of this story is I had recently before they showed up I had rescued a beautiful white fluffy long hair kitty she was four months old and I woke up too crying one night turned on my light to see twin black kittens with white stockings and strange but cute faces half black from head to nose horizontally then white from under bottom nose to throat down neck with golden eyes the most gorgeous two kitties, then few minutes later too twin white kitties like the mother so the male black cat was definitely the father to them because she never leaves to go outside and every other cat I own is fixed ... so now I own I guess half breed kitties they now 6 weeks old and They are just bundles of joy that my home their forever home . I will be keeping they just as loving as the dad is , so they will remain here with him in their forever home and yes they will be fixed as soon as they can be ...

I was definitely lucky. Found my coco in an alley. She was smaller than a baseball. So young we had to give her milk. She was so small, tought she was just a runt. Always questioned why she was abandoned. Figured her mom died but never had a good explanation for why she was alone without other kittens in an abadoneded alley. I've had like 4 tabbys. And have a friend who bred hairless cats. So I had some experience. So after living w her I noticed she was different. Extremely cuddly. Like she wants to get under blankets. Very calm, shed meet other cats and they would hit her and she would just run them. She didn't shed. Like at all, even in 95 degrees. And she was annoying. She wouldn't stop following me. To the point where I couldn't even shower without her there So then I did some research and found out that she's probably a Bombay. Purebred Bombay's are all black. But impure Bombay's have some white hair and are commonly disregarded. So yeah, was probably just thrown in that alley because she wasn't a pure bombay.

Watching this with my Bombay cat right next to me. He’s really intelligent. He can literally OPEN DOOR HANDLES. He pulled the handle down then pushed the door open and I had to chase him and lure him with treats. He even unlocked a door once.

We just adopted a 14-year-old from an animal shelter who was said to be Bombay, and he certainly does have all the described characteristics. He's very confident, immediately adapting to a new home with established cat and dog; and very, very affectionate. He seems healthy and we hope the "long life expectancy" pans out for this one! He's a sweetheart. We were told his long-time humans had to relocate for pandemic-related reasons and tried very hard to find a situation where they could keep him, then to find him a new home, before taking him to the shelter on the day they had to move.

Talkative, loves me with her affection, she adopted me as soon as she concluded I was her sugar daddy, straight out of a feral back yard. Her name is Kitty, and she knows her name. I have a special whistle that brings in all the back yard animals to feeding time, and Kitty is so grateful after all these years, that she's well fed without the whistle show. When she adopted me, I estimated her at 2 years feral, and Kitty has survived many quail, squirrels and enemy dogs. She accepts all my friends with pooches, and she spends each night with me. And she's better than an alarm clock stuck at 7am. The best Bombay kitty on the plant, ever.

I am absolutely in love with my Bombay kitty Pawblo 🐈‍⬛😍 He has all the traits of a Bombay cat. We found him through a friend who saved him from an alley in the valley here in the Socal San Fernando valley area. He fits the description to a T so I believe he is a Bombay. He basically picked me out of 5 people, we bonded instantly. I feel so honored to be his mommy. He follows me everywhere, we have a ritual of cuddle lap time every day. He talks to me in his own special language and is highly intelligent (the smartist cat I've ever met). When I leave him with other family members on short trips he does get separation anxiety if I'm gone for more than a week. He always let's me know how mad he is when I come back with a little attitude the first day back home hehe.

My family just lost our bombay, Bella. She was a shelter adoption and she only lived to be eight months old. She was bonded to our daughter. She had feline herpes and constant sinus issues. We knew we could lose her any day because of the health issues she had but we were very hopeful we'd be able to give her a long life. Unfortunately she drew the short end of the stick and passed before she really even got a chance to live. She was a brilliant cat and had a vibrant and sweet personality and will be forever missed.

My Bombay cat Stella Luna is by far the best cat Ive ever owned. Highly, intelligent, loving, playful. Has never used a litter box, she lets us know when she needs to go outside. She very vocal with her needs. But not overly noisy at all, seems to only do so when she needs or wants something. To add she's extremely good with the grandkids, and is an outstanding hunter. She's my heart, sleeps in my lap, didn't leave my sight when I was grieving the loss of a loved one. She does her rounds and greets neighbors, takes walks with us. I can go on and on. 😂

I have a small female Bombay. She will be 7 in December. She is one of 3 cats in my house, and she is definitely the boss, even though she is the smallest. I love her little round face and big golden eyes. She is a very loud talker, she even talks to my 10 month old Doberman puppy. They are great friends. Noiselle is my little protector. If she hears me hollering ouch, get off me, etc. She comes running up hissing and growling at whomever is making me cry out. She spends the entire winter on my lap, getting warm. I have one who re-homed himself to me when he was a kitten. Tried to give him back to the owners, who were my neighbors but he clearly didn't want to go and came back to me again days later. My cat is solid black. Looks like a Bombay. But she has these beautiful vivid green eyes I have never seen on a cat before. She was a free kitten I picked up from someone giving away kittens out of the back of their truck. She’s a very friendly, family cat. She’s 8 years old. Loves my son and I equally. Very vocal. Softest cat ever with this silky hair that I love to pet. Definitely a lap kitty, loves to watch TV with me. But the green eyes and how vocal she is make me think she has Siamese somewhere in her background. Gold+blue would equal green, I think? Not sure what she is. My Bombay cat is named Binks (after the black cat in "Hocus Pocus"). He literally walked into my yard one day as a 5 month old cat, 2 weeks before Halloween. It seems a neighbor had a litter and they were just roaming around the neighborhood becoming feral. I opened my patio door and Binks came in and has never left. That was 19 years ago. He's incredibly affectionate and loyal. Very smart. He was practically mute the first 15 years of his life. He has since become a bit mouthier. I've owned various pets my entire life and my Bombay and my now deceased Siberian husky are the two stand outs. When Binks passes, I'll be looking for another Bombay.

Had her since she was a little kitten about 6 months old so there must be a breeder in our area that either this little girl got out or they dumped her for having a broken tail or runt of the litter (the end of it must have broken at some point before we got her as it has a crinkle in it, and she was an adoption from the Humane Society and they didn't catch it) She is the sweetest girl, very vocal when she wants something and so expressive with her eyes. Has 2 modes, little Panther when she's sweet, and little void when she has the zoomies and runs around the house with our other 2 cats (a tortie and a Maine Coon)

my cousin has a black cat named Dixie. She's a therapy cat and she's one of those rare cats that have thumbs. The first time I met she loved it when I picked her up and she would constantly follow me around I loved her so much. But when I saw her again 4 years later she wouldn't let me pet her she just kept running away. Man I miss the old Dixie

Got one as a kitten without even knowing it. One day I took a pic and iPhone pulled up info on a Bombay, and then everything made sense! He’s so smart, vocal, sometimes thins he’s a dog, and walks just like a lil’ panther! He loves to play fetch!! 🖤🖤

I love my little Bombay Lena. She's part mini panther, part human! She's vocal, beautiful, intelligent, sassy, very soft and an incredible gymnast. She is very human orientated and follows me on walks, sleeps by my side. She's been on several airplanes and fell asleep for both take off and landing. I fell in love with this breed.

I got a rather large 6 kilo/13.2 pounds Bombay named Chico, 4 years old. I can't tell he's eighter very intelligent or extremely stupid, probably both, but I love him to bits. He likes to chase around my other (female) cat who's alot smaller, untill she gets pissed off and mops the floor with him. He loves attention, he loves other people too! Perfect host each time I got guests over, who are almost always bamboozled over how friendly and cuddly he is. I even had people blatantly claim he aint a cat at all but a dog. I absolutly love how tolerant he is of just about anything, his typical responce to something he don't like is waiting till it stops, like picking him up then holding him in a uncomfortable position, zero f**** shall be given. He hates being left alone, just going out of his line of sight makes him melt away emotionally, he deals with this by following me around where ever I go in the house. He also has this NEED to be as close as cattly possible to me when I goto bed. Preferably his nose touching mine, which sucks when he yawns cuzz his breath smells rather bad! :( Ohh yes, he is really a talker. It goes non-stop, specially when he sees I'm preparing his food. For his size however his mew is very soft and highpitched, while my pussy-cat who's half his size could make your ears ring is she starts mewing right next to one of your ears.

My lovely Bombay cat is named Masha. She is turning a year old and she is so playful and lively.whenever she wants me to play with her she starts biting me and then I get oh yeah it is the time. I found her and her siblings and waited for her mom finallh she had come and picked her kids except my Masha and then I decided to take care of this cutie when she was only 7 days old! God gave this to me while Corona virus was spreading and this little baby made me busy and relaxed.

She would also sleep in one of my dresser drawers every night, after checking out the entire house to make sure it was safe of course! All of this in addition to being able to figure out how to slide open my closet doors (and the shower door...once). I would love to get another one.

We rescued one from our local SPCA 3 weeks ago. She is 1-1:2 yrs old and named Mia. we’ve had her for 3 weeks now, and she has adapted very well. We recently taught her to fetch, and she really enjoys that. She is not a cuddly or lap cat but loves to be with you. A very nice cat!

I have a Bombay cat, named planty. Dude never talks. Ever. He also can be left alone for tons of time. He really loves me and his sister and often Jumps on my bed and lays down right next to me or Jumps on the couch and lays next to his sister. But planty is the most chill and non vocal cat I've ever seen, and I've owned him for 8 years. Yeah he's probably an American shorthair but other then some personality traits he's the exact same as a Bombay. He LOVES the heat and loves the outdoors in the maybe 2 times he was outside. His sister is a tuxedo cat who I assume is an American shorthair

i have a bombay named max and hes with me right now LIKE BRO- when i putted my hand a little close to him, his paw reached out and grabbed my hand and rubbing his face on my hand. i did not know bombays are this cuddly to be honest i started crying because i didnt know that max loves me this much. he has cute eyes, little white stomach, meows like a kitten (and can meow a LOT sometimes) AND ALMOST TALLER THAN MY ANKLE. im lucky to have max because i've been so lonely lately and hes the only person on this planet who loves me more than my big brother, little brother, mom, dad, and the rest.

Adopted my Wesley two years ago from a shelter after his human passed. Just found out he's a Bombay which explains so much. He is the most affectionate baby boy (he is 9), follows me around like a dog, loves to be on my lap, conversates with me, and stares at me while I'm sleeping lol. I love him so much ❤️
