Baron the twin engines are Messerschmitt 110s. The ironic thing is that the Germans used them mainly for bomber escort, not bomber-hunters.

Leaving the doors open is completely safe, unless the enemy is using 40mm API (which they aren’t) it’s very unlikely they will detonate the bombs as they don’t arm until dropped.

When under attack, move the Engineer onto the top turret. He is not far from his usual station for swapping, and it also frees us a waist gunner so you can all guns in operation. This should be used in consideration with the cheek guns. Have the bombardier on one, and in dire situations put the navigator on the other. Once again, they are not far from their stations so can move back fast. For secondary skills when following this tactic, gunners for Nav, Bomb and Engineer, have someone in the waist as a medic. Hope i helped! :)

The twin engine Messerschmitt are Bf 110. They were designed to be a fighter with a bigger punch than the great Bf 109, It wasn't the best at dogfighting compared to the Bf 109. But it found its niche as a night fighter/ bomber interceptor due to its heavier armament than the Bf 109. The prongs on the front of the plane are for the radar which makes me to believe that the Germans are sending night fighting Bf 110 at you. I also think that latter night fighting Bf 110s were equipped with radar guided missiles or normal rockets.

2:35 just because they are Biplanes, it doesn't mean they suck. A CR-42 (the biplane in the game) could actually catch up to that early version of the B-17 without the ball turret under the cockpit
