"Dry County" is Jon's greatest attempt at channeling his idol, Bruce Springsteen. Listening to the song reminds me so much of "Jungleland", and I honestly think it may be one of Jon's greatest songwriting accomplishments
@segasonic91174 жыл бұрын
Damn right! One of Jon's masterpieces for sure. Hard to believe crap like Woman in Love and Dry County were written for the same album... Dry County always sounded like a left over from Blaze of Glory to me. I love that album, Santa Fe, Blood Money, Justice In The Barrel, Dyin' Ain't Much Of A Livin' and of course, Blaze of Glory are all Jon Masterpieces. Not until Just Older did he write another for BJ in my opinion. Destination Anywhere is full of amazing examples of Jon's writing, too. I know Just Older was written for another solo project after DA. Damn he was in fine form at that time. I wish he could get some of that magic back NOW. The team of Jon and Ritchie will never be equaled......
@madden77324 жыл бұрын
@@segasonic9117 thats what I was about to say. Jon's best songwriting is on the Blaze Of Glory album, arguably. But KTF and TD had also amazing songwriting. Jon and Richie were both masters of that.
@segasonic91174 жыл бұрын
@@madden7732 Oh could not agree more!! These Days was Jon and Ritchie at their best. I love that album so much and feel it is their best. KTF had some amaxing songs but had some duds, too. Hot the hell Woman In Love was an official song and Save a Prayer was a BONUS and left off the US album astounds me. That is one of my fav BJ songs, EVER!! In Oz, we had the same tracks as Japan thankfully. So we had the complete KTF and CRUSH. Pisses me off that the songs were left off the records, and that all the modern CD pressings are the crappy US versions of the album. Meaning, incomplete. Jon and Ritchie were doing Lennon/McCartney level writing with TD. My Guitar Lies Bleeding In My Arms is one of my favourite songs of all time.

They filmed most of the video for In These Arms in Madison, Wi and they played it 3 times. It was AMAZING, they played it faster than you see in this video. That’s why if you watch the crowd in the video for ITA, we are going crazy because it was more rock than ballad. Also, it was my first ever Bon Jovi concert. One awesome evening.

My first rock concert was Bon Jovi Keep the Faith Tour Live in Manila 1993.....under heavy rains thunder and lightning but I wouldn't change that awesome experiece. I had to go back the 2nd night and skipped my midterm exams because the first was cut short by bad weather and stubborn fans who wouldn't go down from the lights tower despite of Jon's warning. Maybe I couldn't find it on KZbin because it was never posted. My 2nd rock concert was still Bon Jovi These Days Tour . It's so good to see them specially Jon and Richie....they're better together. Thank you for this, brings me back to that Bon Jovi experience.

I'm Too man!!! End some things don't make sense one of them is the fact that in 87, the bon jovi band recorded two songs from Cher's Album, which Jon and Richie were producing together with Desmond Child and Michael Bolton. Alec together with the band recorded a version of bang bang that became known as Bang Bang '87 and We All Sleep Alone in the two noticeable songs the same timbre in the slippers of Slippery When Wet and New Jersey. So why didn't you call Hugh? AHAHA! Alec is Great!
@javtimestwo Жыл бұрын
you should believe it. Alec was replaced in the studio and for good reason. why would Jon or the band lie about something like that? they had no reason to lie and when have you seen Alec deny these stories? Alec was a fine bass player live in concert but he struggled during recording sessions and replacing a bass player in the studio was as easy as putting on your shoes.

Surely when the record company gets off their proverbial and finally gets around to releasing the 25th Anniversary Edition they will include some of the rare cuts via audio because we all know they exist in the vault somewhere. We don't need another DVD of promo clips we've already got and seen a million times, we need these remastered audio files to add to their ever expanding catalog. I hope you read this Jon, love from Australia. Great job guys but astonished you didn't include the Milton Keynes version of 'Dry County' still sends shivers up my spine especially the speech Jon performs. They've always puzzled me into why they don't or can't perform certain songs and will always be a flaw in an otherwise stellar career. Would've loved to of heard full renditions of 'I Want You' (probly close to my favorite BJ tune) and 'Save A Prayer' would've been mind blowing but I can understand why with the aforementioned. Just frustrating as i'm also a huge Pearl Jam fan and we know what they still and can pull off.
