It was so nice to see the guys all together 😊. My favorite part is 02:05 Huey is so touched, on the verge of tears and then Richie comes to the mic, completely chilled and shouts "Clevelaaaand" 😁. That's a typical Sambora right there 😀. You can tell Jon Bon Jovi was really looking forward to that night his whole life... You know you're the front man when you get two-thirds of the total speaking time 😉. I think the organizers thought, "Gee, keep it short and sing, will ya? We have other bands to honor. Otherwise we'll still be sitting here in 5 hours" 😅.

That's exactly why they've clashed, Jon's a structured perfectionist who wrote a speech & Richie lives life as it comes at him. They've always had a bit of a war regarding whether to work harder as Jon wanted or play harder & live life on the fly as Richie wanted. They grew apart as they aged because they weren't willing to meet in the middle any more. They're a great team & probably would've stayed together had Jon chilled just a bit or maybe Richie had been more structured or had both given in a bit. They've worked hard enough I think they deserve to relax a bit, but for some structure's what makes them happy, I guess to each his own. Just thankful they shared their music & lives with us, made my life so much more enjoyable. Had a blast at their concerts & cruising the strip blasting their songs. Some of the best days of my life. Would go see them again today if I had the chance.

@@Lady-Carmakazi such true comments and i love that you didnt bash any of them just said both at the end had their responsability in their break up😢😢. They were like Nicky Lauda and James Hunt (Jon the equal to nicky and Richie to James). Nicky and James were able at the end to be friends because well they didnt have to work together but probably if they were teamates at something like lemans they would have clashed like Jon and Richie. I guess Jon would have to unfire him as well as Alec. What was different about this band is that they were not all collaborators in terms of equal say. The band was actually Jon's employees. This has been said by the band members themselves over 20 years ago in interviews. Jon was the boss and had final say over everything and when Alec and Jon clashed in the late 90s, Jon fired him but NEVER talked about it in interviews. Same thing happened with Richie. Problems started happening and Jon fired Ritchie. Frankly, I see no reason for them to come back since Bon Jovi's music is unrecognizable from what it use to be. The last album came and went quietly. I don't even think one song from that album has gotten much air time on radio. Plus add to that that they are all filthy stinking rich, they can just enjoy retirement. Richie is 61 and worth $100 million. Alec is 68 and worth $10 million. Tico is 66 and worth $20 million. David is 58 and worth $120 million. Jon is also 58 and is the 8th richest rock star at $410 million. I think all of them should retire. They are all set for life in terms of money but the sound of Bon Jovi just isn't what it use to be and even their concerts, many of the older more famous songs they play/sing them more as ballads now because Jon's voice isn't what it use to be. The band had a good run but now their time has passed and they should just relax from now on.
@melissas4874
@melissas4874 4 жыл бұрын
@@thereturningshadow Actually, Richie was "fired" because he just didn't show up to a concert. Didn't call, nothing. That's why it was so dark for Jon - they were essentially ghosted. I read that Richie woke up one day and realized he didn't want to be in the band anymore. He already had one successful album himself at that point. I do enjoy Richie's solo stuff better than current BJ stuff. BJ's music now feels like something the Carpenter's would have played.
@thereturningshadow
@thereturningshadow 4 жыл бұрын
@@melissas4874 Hahaha. The Carpenters. I did not know that about Richie. Thanks for clarifying. I can't really blame Richie for wanting to leave the band since it was clearly moving in the wrong direction. When they started moving toward country that was the beginning of the end for them. If you look at their latest music videos, they are all about Jon. If you compare them to the videos 20 years ago or even 30 years ago you can see a noticeable difference. It was about the band then. I still say all of them should retire. They have played for enough years. Toured the world for decades. Made a shit ton of money enough that their grand kids would be well off, especially Jon. And Jon's voice is no longer what it use to be which is why they play all their harder rock songs as ballads these days.

@@thereturningshadow It's funny you say it's all about Jon. I was reading an article from last year where Jon is saying he misses Richie, that he feels the band is missing something without Richie and he himself is missing Richie by his side. Then he says that he can't help that Richie "went astray" and the show must go on. Just that phrase - like Jon is some deity and Richie has sinned against him! LOL I finally got around to listening to some of Richie's work in RSO and after about 4 songs I bought the album. I've seen many say that Richie was better outside of RSO, but his influence is instantly recognizable.

Slippery was my into to the boys from Jersey. When I first heard them, I was blown away by their cohesive musical talent. Jon’s voice was so different from what I’ve heard before that I couldn’t stop listening to them. I always research my stuff and I dug into the history of the members and it’s amazing all they’ve accomplished. I instantly bought their self-titled album and 7800 Degrees and fell further in love with their music. I’m 51 now and I anxiously await the release of Forever as I still listen to them religiously. Jon is a humanitarian and a great family man. The hole Richie left has never really been filled but Phil X is a kickass guitar player. The loss of Alec was such a blow to me as I loved watching him in the music videos. When Bon Jovi was finally inducted into the Hall of Fame I could not have been happier. I’ve seen them 3 times now and I can’t wait to see them again. Bon Jovi is legendary and I will love them forever!!!

A band that took the world by storm with their music. We danced and sang all the songs in the 80s..Best band.. I am sorry that Richie left, but I understand that ppl have their own dreams and who are we to have held him back. Richie got me to fall in love with the Blues......OMG his riffs are orgasmic to say the least..just the best guitar player. Yes he is also hot..lets face it... to be part of their journey is an honor. Jon, .always the happy guy..all the guys are the best artists and they should have been nominated a long time ago. My congratulations to the band for making my life better for all the good times and music..
