Storyline:
"A stagecoach accident in the mountains during a severe windstorm leaves the passengers with no choice but to make their way across country as best they can. One is found stabbed to death with Little Joe's knife, and the suspicion for his murder falls on Joe. Little Joe and the other passengers must explore a complex mystery involving love, deception, money, and more murder, in order to reveal what is hidden among them." Written by Charles Delacroix on IMDb.com
Reviews:
"This Bonanza story has Michael Landon taking a stagecoach back to Virginia City when the coach breaks down and the driver killed. Little Joe and the five other passengers have to hike it with little food or water.
It's a motley crew that Landon is thrown in with. They include Kelly Thordsen, Dabbs Greer, Betsy-Jones Moreland, and Kathleen Cowley.
Thordsen is a big mouth lout of a fur trader who brags he's got $5000.00 pn him and one night is stabbed for his trouble. Nobody truly misses him, but there's murder and robbery done.
When the truth comes out a lot of secrets are revealed.
This episode is more mystery than western. I think you might have few surprises in store." Written by bkoganbing on IMDb.com
"This is a murder mystery where Little Joe is the obvious killer because he finds the dead man stuck with his knife, removes the knife, and it holding the knife in his hand over the dead man when discovered.
The story starts with very different people taking a packed stagecoach. Little Joe, a saloon singer, Laurie Hayden (Kathleen Crowley), a rough fur trader, Howard Benson (Kelly Thordsen), an arrogant son of a Baron, Roberto DeSoto (Mario Alcalde), a prissy, judgmental woman, Nora Whitley (Betsy Jones-Moreland) and an older man, Leon Henshaw (Dabbs Greer).
Howard tells them he makes a lot of money as a fur trader and has $5,000 in his pocket right now. The stagecoach driver has a heart attack and the stage is overturned with the horses running off. They all survive and begin walking with a little food and water and a wild wind. Only Howard and Little Joe are familiar with the country and which way to go. They find a cabin/way station and spend a night there. Howard makes advances to Laurie, which she rejects, so he gets rough and Little Joe intervenes. Near morning LIttle Joe finds Howard dead and is holding his knife when Nora starts screaming and everyone awakes. Little Joe is knocked unconscious and has his hands tied because they all think he is a killer. Unfortunately, Little Joe is the only one who knows which way to go and leads everyone further into the wilderness, into a cave where he tells them they aren't going anywhere until the killer confesses.
Everyone is thirsty, hungry and tired when Laurie tells the old man, Leon, to tell Little Joe.
SPOILER: Turns out there is some important information that the travelers hadn't shared with each other. Leon is Laurie's father and has just been released from prison, but he swears he didn't kill Howard and provides reasoning why he wouldn't, yet. Then Nora comes in with Roberto and a gun, they take the last water and prepare to leave when there is some gunplay between LIttle Joe and Roberto with Nora being gut shot. Roberto tells her he loves her, but where is the money? Turns out Howard had promised to marry Nora, but wouldn't do it and didn't have any money. Nora killed Howard because he wouldn't marry her. Nora is upset about Roberto's concern for the money and shoots him, then she succumbs to her wound.
In the end Little Joe is happy to be back at the Ponderosa and scolded by his father when he puts his boots on the table." Written by talonjensen on IMDb.com

During my acting career, I did nearly all my own stunts - fights, falling down stairs, jumping out of second floor windows, etc., but the guys who worked on Bonanza, were in a class of their own. The person taking a hit determines whether it is convincing, and the show's crew were among the best.

there exists one episode, when shucksters are ripping off Adam's GF, and a fight in a Paramount Pictures stage of a hotel room erupts. this old hyena gets clocked and travels at a minimum 7 feet thru the air, brakes a table and dies. stunting like ...full back flip, for daily scale

What really impresses me is the horseback riding if the four Cartwrights. Lots of close up of them on horseback. Michael Landon springs up onto his horse without stirrups. They all can handle wagons & buckboards. The only horse whose name I know is Landon's pinto Cochise.

A somewhat dark episode but with very interesting dynamics: the plot twists, the mystery, it's Agatha Christy goes west.

Truly all the fighting is amazing. When a punch is thrown it's so accurate. I love these shows with Adam because I don't remember them. One aspect I love is that life is natural, no cars, paved streets,--- just beautiful horses and buggies to ride. NO fast food so everyone looked slim and healthy!! Cotten clothing, clean air, and a healthy EARTH 👍💖🐴🐴🐴🐴

Wow, Nora (Betsy Jones-Moreland) was a terrific actress. The way she sobbed over Roberto at the end was really powerful. Despite being such a horrible character, you couldn't help but feel sorry for her as she spilled out her misery over his betrayal. I think even Little Joe had sympathy for her.

Some episodes are set in a random year during the 1860s. e.g. Rose for Lotta is the only episode that takes place in 1859. The Last Haircut from season 4 takes place in 1868 because of the poster in the beginning. And we know that San Francisco is in 1861 because it literally tells you. None of the episodes follow a strict chronological order but it's subtle reference in each episode. Elizabeth my love is set in 1830 because it's the year Adam was born. Inger my love is set in 1836, and Marie my love is in 1842. The episodes with Jamie Cartwright are in the early 1870s.

It must be some rough riding them stage coaches over them hard roads . Must be sore on the ass and how did women manage to use the toilet out in the middle of the wilderness with all those men around.

You are really are naive if you think that a woman can't go to the bathroom without a toilet. A woman can go in the woods while the men stay in the cabin. She can use leaves for toilet paper.

This one doesn't make any sense how is it somebody from a different part of the country going to know the landscape all the way to go if they'll never been in that country before if he's from Paris he would know nothing about that part of the United States at all some of these videos don't make no sense how can you be from a different country and know where everything is

Of course someone from another country can learn a lot from journals, papers, letters, pictures, and drawings concerning other countries. Also, they can learn a lot from foreigners who travel to their country from other countries. Also, there are maps. I suspect History nor Geography, meant much to you during your school years.🤔🥴

Not one of the most memorable episodes I have watched. Adam did not even appear in it and the whole situation is just too impossible for such a simple resolution
