John Fiedler was a well known actor long before he was in this episode. I know because my mother told me. I think that he became famous in the 1940s. He was also in 2 episodes of "Get Smart" where he played a very clever criminal and he worked for KAOS.

25:40 generally speaking . . . When one has come into good fortune $$ , it seems best to be modest & not conspicuous, not blatant, -- like some people who drive old car like an old Honda or something -- and don't go around advertising one's wealth . . . . In fact, even if one isn't wealthy, it's best to avoid the topic , keep financial matters rather private.

A great light hearted show so far. Of course, I was expecting him to blow all the money, so I was surprised when he shared it. Now that there's dynamite, I'm expecting them to uncover gold and it will be the clumsy guy who throws the stick that exposes it... then some comedy as they try to buy back the deed... let's see... Well, it was good up until the ending. It didn't make sense to try to shoot Little Joe just because he spoke. That would be murder and the clumsy man is a witness. Good luck trying to explain how he justifiably killed two of them. The power of attorney could easily be revoked. Would have made more sense if the "secretly" signed papers had gifted some of those mortgages to the deputy. Then, at the fence line, the deputy could say "you can't change the interest rate on those. "You signed them over to me. They're my property now. " The clumsy guy would get mad and fumble for his gun, so the deputy draws his gun and the Cartwrights draw theirs. ... Can it happen fast enough that the Cartwrights can legally shoot the deputy? Or it's a standoff and the Cartwrights explain that he can rescind the power of attorney and likely get the mortgages back because he was swindled out of them. Perhaps while the deputy is nursing a wound to his hand, arm or shoulder.

I agree, the fence was the place for the final showdown. They wanted the clumsy man to stand up for himself but they didn't do it well. Rather than a power of attorney that can be easily revoked, it would have made more sense if the "secretly" signed papers had gifted some of those mortgages to the deputy. Then, at the fence line, the deputy could say "You can't change the interest rate on those. You signed them over to me. They're my property now.
