Singer Vaughn Monroe guest-stars as shy Ponderosa ranchhand Hank Meyers. In love with schoolteacher Abigail Jones (Eileen Ryan), Hank is too timid to reveal his feelings to her. Thus, in true "Miles Standish" fashion, Hank asks Adam Cartwright to act as go-between-with the expected results.

Oh, the great Vaughn Monroe - beloved singer of the war years, and who ever could forget his song that ends..."when the lights go one all over the world.?" Here he is allowing folks to make fun of him over his famed (and loved) nasal tones! This is truly one of the finest episodes, and It shows Mr. Monroe as a great and generous man. You know, I'm sure that no one dubbed Pernell's voice, who is also a fine singer as well as a skilled actor and a insanely handsome man! This was an early episode.

Vaughn Monroe had sung many hit songs, including some huge #1s, years before. He must have had a wonderful sense of humor about the whole "singing through the nose" routine, owing to his very distinctive voice. Nice to see him!
