Format suggestion: Rather than revealing them as you go, have it be blind to both Andre and the guest, they each guess a price for the wine (still at the 5 tiers) and lock it in. After a tasting and guessing all 5, they reveal each wine and score the number of dollars off for each guess. Low score 'wins'.

This is good in its own way but the output is vastly different. With Hot Ones, celebs are broken and vulnerable. Cold Ones is more similar to that than this if you're looking for an alcohol centric show and has the benefit of being funny as well.

As a homebrewer and a person who's worked in the wine industry, I've been waiting on this type of "Hot Ones"-style show! I love when people who aren't necessarily wine "experts" get to try wines with people that are familiar. It's super fun to me to try to get people to get creative with their wine tasting and what they can taste/smell - especially when they're not used to looking for things like blackberries, leather, French oak, and tobacco.

I would love if Andre had done more to coax notes out of Kevin before offering his input. I totally understand the sommelier urge to feed people a couple easy flavors to get them thinking, but then the format of the show meant the conversation moved on.

Impressed by Kevin’s guesses. He didn’t get the prices right but that’s virtually impossible. But he was in the general area on every wine and would’ve ranked them 1-5 pretty accurately.

I was attending college and working as a server in Beverly Hills when I first learned about wine. The sommelier was a sterotype, pedantic, high-brow, and pompous. Had he been down-to-earth like Andre, I surely would've retained that knowledge.

I enjoyed this wine twist on Hot Ones. I do agree with some other people saying that it would probably be better if you had the guest taste all of them and then ranked them. Granted the need to take notes or somesuch so they don't forget might break the flow of the interview... but on the whole, I'd continue watching this series.

My favorite wine finding trick for Old World wines is to look at the artisans responsible for producing the most famous and expensive wines in their region and then find what wines they produce for their daily drinkers

Gotta have Ed Sheeran on this. He collects wine bottles as a physical manifestation of memories. He shares the bottle with a special person or people and writes a brief description describing the setting of the occasion. Surely he knows his wine.
