I just started working for myself however I've been doing wood floors out in Colorado. My use is getting all my own sanding equipment and it's really put a damper on success. I'd love to have a power drive one day though cause it's a great piece of equipment to have in your inventory

Good luck Shaun! And, yes, having a Power Drive changes your whole approach to sanding floors (and saves your body and back too)!

I want to know what vacuum is being used with this sander.
@BonaProfessional8 ай бұрын
Hi @rowankeltizar5961 - We usually use the Bona Portable DCS 2.0 vacuum in conjunction with the Power Drive, but the Bona DCS 50 (a recent addition to our line-up) also works well. The DCS 2.0 is a powerful, two motor, system that combines a Bona exclusive two-step cyclonic intake system with two hospital-grade HEPA filters, and a perfect blend of 92" of water-lift (suction) at 235 CFM (volume). It also has a convenient Longo-Pac bag system that helps keep the job site dust free when changing bags inside. Here's a link to our dust containment vacuum line-up: www.bona.com/en-us/products/professional/machines/dust-containment/ Hope that helps!

Does the intermediate pass come with the steel disc when bought ?
@BonaProfessional2 жыл бұрын
Hi Bill - No, the Intermediate Pads and Steel Plates are sold separately. The Intermediate Pads come in two thicknesses (1/4" and 1/2") and two sizes (5" and 6"), while the Steel Plateswhich are also available in two sizes (5" and 6"). Hope that helps!

The power cord in the path of the sander...
@BonaProfessional24 күн бұрын
If that happens, as with any sander or power tool, we'd suggest you move the power cord out of the path of the sander......

@@BonaProfessional like you did in the video?
@BonaProfessional13 күн бұрын
@@freddyking7388 You learn how to work with it. Sometimes you can just nudge it with the Power Drive and sometimes you need to physically move it out of the way. You definitely don't want to run over it or have it get sucked under the sander. Bad things can happen if 220v gets exposed with hot wires!

Hello good morning, I live in South America and I work with scraping of wooden floors, I am going to live in the USA and I want to know how much is paid by a professional? Thank you very much
@BonaProfessional3 жыл бұрын
Hello Paroleiros - That's a question that we can't answer on here, for a number of reasons; but mainly because it will differ from area to area around the U.S. (depending on the quality of company you work for and the cost of living in that area). Professional wood floor Craftsmen can make a great living in the U.S., as wood floors are highly valued by the homeowner! Hope that helps a little bit.

@@kaukotolonen Hello Kauko - Always a good question, but one we can't answer here. For Bona machine pricing, please get in touch with your local Bona distributor and or your local Bona sales representative. Thanks!

Hi Paroleiros - I came across your question again and wanted to add onto our comments. An excellent place to find good companies to work for would be our Bona Certified Craftsman locator, found here - us.bona.com/contractor.html Just input the city and or postal code for the area you're interested in finding work, and then start calling the listed companies to inquire about their technician needs. All great companies!

Bona does not compare to drum sander, orbital gets clogged in seconds, drums gers job done with minimal belt changes!!!
@BonaProfessional3 жыл бұрын
Hello Mxfern12 - In most cases, the first cut is still most effective with a belt sander. However, the trend is then for most craftsmen to switch to their Power Drive to get closer to the edges (reduce edging 50-80%), and perform the medium, fine, and x-fine cuts (no chance for drum/edger marks and way less fatigue on your body). If needed, you can also use the Power Drive for all cuts in areas where the belt sander won't fit - pantry, cross-laid hallway, behind the kitchen island, etc. Sandpaper getting clogged is more often caused by contamination (waxes, oils, polishes) on the surface; going too slow (heating up the finish dust and melting it onto the sandpaper); using too fine of a grit; and or poor quality abrasives. Next time you need to cut finish off with your Power Drive, consider using Bona Green Abrasives (ceramic blend) in 36, 40, or 50 grit. Thanks and hope this helps!
