Ma'am at 13:26 you made a coordinate bond. I am confused with when to make a coordinate bond. Isn't coordinate bond made when 2 electrons of one atom participate bond with another atom having vacant orbital? How to figure out when to make a coordinate bond?

Yes, nitrogen donates two electrons to form coordinate bond with oxygen.

I must be the only person who is having trouble getting the NO3 structure. If the Nitrogen is forming three bonds with three oxygen then shouldn't the octate be completed for the Nitrogen, as it valancy is three.

Remember the central atoms ocacte filling doesn’t matter according to lews . Center atoms main priority is to fee it’s neighbor.
