I spent around 7 months in the hospital with covid in 2021. I wasn't supposed to make it. A less than 10% chance with a ventilator and ecmo. I was running out of the will and strength to keep pushing. Then I found this show. I watched it anytime I was awake in my room. It became the one thing I enjoyed and looked forward to. All that to say, he saved at least 1 other life that wasn't even in the water of Bondi from thousands of miles away. They may never know it, but these guys are heroes to me. I wouldn't have made it without them.

I actually remember him really well. I learnt to surf around Norah head area and he was a bit of a legend in the 80s and 90s into the 00s. He was a great surfer and lifeguard. I can remember him training for the Hawaiian sea paddling he competed in. He would paddle his board from Norah head boat ramp around bird island and back. He was a champion of a person who put alot more into the community than most people will ever realise

Terry seemed like a very genuine, compassionate, and knowledgeable person. I know it has to be a hard loss for your team, his family, his friends, and the community. The tribute you had for him was a perfect send off. I have been a NICU nurse for 20 years. We had the same sorts of bonds with our teammates. When you are dealing with life and death situations, your teammates become your family. The best way to honor Terry is to continue sharing memories of him and to pass on the knowledge that he shared with each of you, to new lifeguards. It might bring up a few tears, but that's ok. It's expected and it's how you begin to heal. Wishing you all the best as you each grieve in your own way and time. Rest easy, Terry, and be at peace.🐚🌊

I can't describe how upset i am about Terry's passing.
