I 💯absolutely agree !!! So often Vet Nurses, RNs, LVNs, Vet Techs and other Personnel like XRay, Lab, etc. Save their patients' lives & the doctors' bacon. "Bondi Vets" shows the cream of the crop. But there are other Vets and their teams around who are unsung heroes.

I'm so glad others feel the nurses and techs don't get that much attention. They do so much and care so much for the patients. It seems the doctors continue to get all of the credit. Of course, when noticed, these folks are often referred to as, my Team. I worked as a Social Worker and I was often referred to by the doctors as, "my Social Worker will help you..." whatever long list of assistance for the patient. The patient would inevitably look at me and say, "Thank you Doctor!". I felt like nameless property. That changed but I had to be assertive about how we all were treated. Most of the doctors changed their attitudes but some maintained their arrogance. I sound bitter but actually, it was a challenge that helped me as it stayed in with me as I worked on my doctorate. Bondi doctors are NEVER demeaning to their staff. It's more likely the Producers or Directors that seem to think the audience won't care.

The one thing I dislike about pits is their tendency to not give much warning when they are being aggressive. They don't seem to growl or anything. But I'm not familiar with the breed, I thought Rotties were similar, but the one I ended up with was a total sweetheart.

@@fcasias7 most of the dogs i've had throughout my life were pits and pitty mixes, i've only ever had one incident where i got nipped at (not even a bite, just a startled nip) because i accidentally stepped on a tail. from my experience if you understand their body language and know how to tell if one's defensive or in pain, they can easily be one of the best breeds of dogs for the most part people are scared of them because of stuff like their powerful jaws or how many are used for dog fighting, but i've never once been bitten by a pit and all mine have just been large babies

What wonderful people Tyson's new family are. To be told he has a life-threatening heart condition and immediately say he is staying with them, so heart-warming. Many people would not have done that, especially as he was being fostered. So glad the vets were able to repair his heart and I hope he lives a very long, happy and healthy life. One thing's for sure, he has the most loving family he could have wished for.

@carladavison7140
@carladavison7140 2 жыл бұрын
@@lindanorris2455 Not necessarily, actually... depending on how "long of time" you are referring to. Bladder stones can form anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months. So it depends on how long and how frequently the urine stays in the bladder for the stones to be created (the longer that the bladder isn't fully emptied from urination, the more angry the bladder gets and produces crystals which turn into stones). Symptoms are normally not seen or felt until the stones grow big enough to start causing issues, such as what Baretta went through, by blocking the flow of urine. I'm pretty sure that her human parents only started to notice that her behaviour was becoming more "chronic", and that's when they KNEW something just wasn't right, and decided to bring her in to be examined. ❤ It really is very hard to tell how long she had these stones forming because it all depends on many different factors. 🙂

I witnessed my old roommate’s pit murder her other dog right in front of me. Also my step brothers pit murdered two of my step moms dog in our back yard and they were maimed so badly they were unrecognizable. The victims were all large dogs. Another one bit an entire cheek off of my coworker when I was a pet groomer. Completely unprovoked. They can absolutely be aggressive and unreasonable. Beautiful animals and they can be very sweet, but they can definitely be unpredictable because of the breed history. I’m sorry about your baby Dallas. I think about my old girl Lina every day. She was the best little calico, and was such a polite, calm old woman that had been handed off from home to home from owners dying, and then from shelter to shelter because she only had one eye and was elderly, until I adopted her and she lived out the rest of her life... then she got mammary cancer and it progressed too far. It’s always so difficult to euthanize and we never forget them. I still cry thinking about being at the clinic with her while she passed and it’s been 4 years. I hope you’ve been able to adopt more- my two sibling kitties are great company and always know when I’m feeling down.

I've had a few bladder stones myself, and though mine weren't severe enough that I had to go to the hospital (though there were times when I worried I might have to), seeing an animal who is suffering from bladder stones really hits different when you've felt 'em yourself. The first time it happened, I really had no idea what was going on, and I was more than an hour away from home, so it was kinda scary.

So ...... what is the ongoing treatment plan for Baretta to prevent new bladder stones? Will she be taking a medication to prevent those stones from forming in the first place? I can relate to the stone issue being a kidney stone patient myself. I take a med every day to prevent them forming in the first place and would be very interested to know if such/the same med would/could/should be used to prevent them from forming again in Baretta's case.

Not saying this is you, Boris - of course! Just that I see so many people who put their pets above their own family and neighbors but act like they think they are doing God's work - I guess because it feels good; while you watch the look in their child's eyes - wishing they were loved even half as much.

Awe Bretta was just so adorable. Owning a pitty will change EVERYONE who has ever had any hesitation or questions about their temperament or nature. They are big babies. I miss my American Bulldog. He was 110lbs of pure sucky lap dog lol. Pure ripping muscles but all big baby who just wanted to snuggle 24/7. So happy Bretta was ok. That’s an unbelievable amount of stones, she must have been in so much pain. But little Bretta didn’t want to complain, being a rescue you could see she just wanted to stay with her family even in the worst pain ever. Such pain tolerance she had. When she was crying for her owner she was so scared she probably didn’t understand were she was or if she was ever going to be home with them again. Such pack animals they are. ❤️❤️🙏❤️❤️ warms my heart. Thank you for sharing

A child is usually the product of the parents example and how they are taught and treated by them till they have the ability to choose to follow their parents example in all ways or choose to do the opposite _ pets or children as I call them are in a similar situation and sadly are blamed and labelled for the way their "parents" example and teachings are bad. And even more sadly when they defend themselves from any "harmful" situations out of fear or pain etc they are punished which is utterly heartbreaking and cruel. No human or animal child is born bad but circumstances unfortunately cause them to be treated badly and cruelly. Thank you to all loving and caring and dedicated parents of all their pet children and to the vets and people who care for them and heal them. Blessings to you all and all the vets here you're all very very special souls💞🐾🐾💞

Re dog with bladder stones, I would have liked to have heard the vet advising Beretta's owner to switch her to a wet diet and provide plenty of fresh water . It's a condition that if you get it once, it is prone to happen again.

Remember- they have to be careful not to "recommend" treatment that can be done at home on the show... otherwise they are liable for a lawsuit if someone follows said advice and it doesn't work. Always visit your own vet.

I love Drs. Chris, Scott, and Dr. Andrew. They all have Personality, Compassion and Humor. Can't beat that. I loved how the wee dogTyson, had corrective heart surgery. When Dr. was bringing Tyson out to his family after 4 days,post surgery and in clinic, Tyson was running, wiggling and Dr. wiggled right along with him! Dr. Andrew has a good sense of humor too. He went with Tyson down the hall to reunite him with his family. Cutest thing I ever saw. I couldn't help but cry at Tyson's vigor and he was looking for his little three year old girl, the owners daughter. She took him gently for a caress, and kissed his head. He cuddled with her right away. Now they can grow up as Buddies and have each other. I was so touched at this. I had a tear too.Your all such a Blessing to the Community in which you work. I also have to give a wonderful Hug and plug to Dr. Scott's Nurse Emma. We're horsewomen and I'm a retired people RN. She has a nurturing, loving way. Emma can give as good as she gets. Dr. Scott and she have a great rapor and friendship. They are family and care for each other. He also has deep feelings for his patients. He wears his heart on his sleeve. I'm so happy for Emma, that her cat Ed did not have a cancerous tumor. Ed is a beautiful cat. I loved when Dr. Scott asked Emma in closing surgery, "How's the patient doing"? Emma said.. "patient is doing good, patient is keeping Mom very happy right now", Dr. Scott said, "I was....actually talking about Mom!" That was a sweet moment.... a gentle arrow to the heart. Ms. Emma could have broke down then and there! I had a tear for her. She was great in view of Ed the cat is her baby.She regulated and monitored the anesthesia, and performed other duties as well. She assured Dr. Scott she had total faith in his decisions. I thought that was what he needed to hear. He did express how it's hard to work with an animals owner. It's an added stress for the Vet. In this case, Emma was a total pro and had an extra dose of good will and care for Dr. Scott. I love to watch this show. It's so relaxing and I so enjoy the interaction, the challenges and especially the ideas that the Vets and their teams employ for best results. Keep up the good work. You're all a Blessing to your Community.

From one practice to another, I found myself in Atlanta, Ga. I have family in Ga, near Atlanta.Good to know there's a Dr. Arvid Edward there. The patient was a gentle, sweet Pittie named Beretta. She had the good fortune to be seen by Dr. Edward. He did a preliminary exam, and he felt bladder stones were the issue and surgery was necessary. He did that exactly, and it was so interesting to see how he flushed the stones, etc. and fished for others around the bladder. He said one stone would have done a human in to the pain. This sweet dog suffered, and didn't cause a stir. Dr. worked hard to clean up the stones, grit and close the life saving surgery. Beretta was crying in recovery. Dr. assured the owner Linda, that Beretta had pain meds on board and they were working. Beretta was probably reacting to the surroundings, etc. too.Dr. Arvid Edward is such a loving, tactile and caring man. Blessings to all the health care professionals. Thanks to Dr. Arvid, he saved another life here.

@@amylynn4924 thanks but I'm well over it. It was 2 years ago so I'm fine now. I really feel for animals when they are in pain cause they can't really tell you where it hurts and usually it's when they aren't able to do something so normal like going to the bathroom that we realize "omg something is wrong we need to take you to the vet" they really are like babies, that's why I always call my 15 year old cat my fur baby, cause to me that's exactly what she is. I'm sure that you are exactly the same way with your own fur baby/babies. Take care and please continue to stay safe during this time with the pandemic Love from your friend in Northern Ireland 💚☘️💚☘️💚☘️💚☘️💚☘️💚☘️💚☘️💚

I love Bondi Vet. I live in St.Peterburg, Florida in the United States of America. This and Vet on the Hill are what I watch most. Keep making more videos as I lay in a nursing home and rarely watch t.v. You all do so much for the animals and their parents. That's what I did. Care for cats. Lots of them before and after I broke my neck and a year after till my last fall on June 25th 2015.
