Exactly ! I lived in Kenya for 3 years and never came face to face with a snake - we had a big garden, perfect for snakes and spiders, but the only deadly animals we met were scorpions. Going to bed we were told to turnover our slippers/shoes because the scorpions love to snuggle up in a closed space - lol!!!

I wouldn't worry about Poison except when you try to eat Spiders or Snakes. There was one great analogy on a Reptile channel: When YOU bite IT and you Die, it was Poisonous. When IT bites YOU and you die IT was Venomous. Just like Mark said when you leave it alone it won't bite

true story.....friends of mine retired & migrated to aus to be with their son..they ran a language school in the Uk..I asked my wife how had they settled in, she said Eddie is working again...as a snake catcher! He has too much work to cope with - in his mid 70's! Crazy place

Live in Colorado…. We have only one poisonous snake…. Rattlesnake….so, our dogs are vaccinated for their bite….love the rocks to hide in and we are outdoors a lot so have to just be mindful….

I hate snakes & spiders. Good thing I live in a place where we don't have poisonous spiders or snakes. We have garter snakes but they don't bite. In fact, my cats bring them to me as a present as well as mice, moles & voles. Not my favorite things in the world.
