@@dumbass67 I can agree to the cow, cows are sentient beings with feelings, just like dogs are. The difference is purely in how we view them: one is a companion to us, the other a resource for food and clothing. Dog meat is actually very low quality and hard to ethically produce. Dogs are carnivorous animals which means they have different proteins in their muscles that makes their meat tougher and less rich in essential vitamins! Dogs were bred as a companion animal and as active hunting animals wouldn’t make good meat. Most places where dog meat farms are set up just have them because there is a high rate of poverty and dogs are much easier to get your hands on than good quality livestock animals. It’s less of a problem that they eat dogs- more of a problem that due to the conditions being so bad that they WOULD eat dogs in the first place, these dog meat farms are basically guaranteed to be inhumane, dirty, cruel places built on desperation.

The dogs from Korea is so sad. My aunt has a rescue dog from Korea named mojo and has a few deformities but he is just the sweetest thing. The story touched my heart. He was from a rescue and likely discarded onto the street after a breeder didn’t want him for looking funny. But despite having little to no lower jaw and some extra toes he’s such a softie I’m glad he has a home even though it took him all the way to Canada.

We have three of the sweetest girls and they all had rough starts as kittens. First was found in a dumpster and rescued by the Humane Society, One was brought back to the shelter after two months by her previous family, and our youngest was found under my in-laws’ porch. All of them were between 2-3 months old when they went through it. I can’t stand that our first and last were abandoned so cruelly and that our second probably felt so confused why her first family couldn’t keep her, but now all three live with us, lots of love, and a lot of cat trees.

If you think that is bad. Broiler hens live for 7 weeks. Baby boy chicks killed on first day of life( either in macerator or suffocated in a bag). Rescued egg laying hens usually die at 1-2 years. When hens should live around 8 years. They die due to systemic osteoporosis and all sorts of health conditions brought on my excessive egg laying. Hens should only produce 15 eggs a year. Now they produce over 250 a year. Do the math on that one. Where is the nutrients to make those eggs coming from? That is right. The bones.

Chickens are so much fun to raise! 🥰 People don't really realize how much personality they have until they raise their own. I know I didn't. My little flock was supposed to be a novelty/no emotional attachment thing, but that idea didn't turn out. I have become a crazy chicken lady and they are my girls. I value each one of them, and they tell me off if I don't give them treats.😂 They have full access to my yard, and they absolutely love it. 🥰 They are a big dedication: hard work, time consuming, expensive, and heartbreaking. You have to be prepared for having them a long time, as they live 5 to 10 years if they die of old age. Hopefully mine will die of old age, but so far I have lost one hen to impacted crop, and my drake to a raccoon. 😢 Fritta and Darkwing Duck, RIP.
