I love how the doctor showed her emotions when seeing her patient's pictures. Thank you for showing this very human response to this terrifying diagnosis. Keep showing your heart Dr. Weilbaecher.

Thank you so much Dr. Weilbaecher. Truly. I'm in my third year and my Mets are in the spine and sternum. Just recently increased activity and back to radiation. I am also on Zometa. This was incredibly reassuring and enlightening. So thankful.

Wow, learned so much. Thank you. I have stage 2 breast cancer and did not know why I was doing much of the treatments. I will be doing so much more to prevent bone metastasis. Exercise, vitamin D, calcium, etc.

Great presentation. I'm very frustrated with my bone Mets due to NOTHING is being treated. A year ago both femurs had rods placed, then afterwards I was dropped by the cancer doctor due to no cancer was found. No tumors anywhere and not multiple myeloma or bone cancer. My diagnosis was cancer of unknown primary, only sign of cancer is in the bone Mets throughout pelvis, hips and femurs. No tumors anywhere. I was just sent home, told to find a pallative physician. None of the breaks in the femurs and pelvis have healed(as expected) after a year. I turn wrong and "crack" another fracture. I was exercising and walking regularly with the assistance of a walker until while sitting on a cushiony chair 3 weeks ago and "crack" there went the right hip. Now I can no longer stand or walk and it's frustrating due to I'm only being monitored by a primary who provides adequately pain medication. Nothing else is being done. On my own, I have created my own vitamin regimen high in vitamin D with other supplements. I eat healthy and am very active just scooting around in a walker. Been trying to get a hospital bed(have prescription) so I have the ability to elevate my feet which swell regularly due to the all the fractures. 2 months later I still have no bed and continue to sleep sitting up due to the inability to propel from lying to sitting from the fractures in pelvis. I need SOME kind of direction! Even the nurse that regularly texts me has not been helpful for getting the hospital bed or referral to anyone besides "see your primary". I now have in home care which does help a lot, but does nothing medically. UGH. And NO one seems to be able to answer the question of: How do I die with only having bone Mets and no cancer is found???.

Thank you for this video. I currently in treatment for HER2 positive breast cancer. I am currently taking tamoxifen which you indicated was a good bone strengthened prior for post menopausal women. I have had several autoimmune diseases, and prior to the cancer I was diagnosed with osteo arthritis in my knees. I do suffer from neuropathy pain, numbness and tingling in the toes and fingers and numerous skin lesions on the upper and lower right leg and right arm. I am concerned with the leg pain as it does affect my ability to walk and my balance, however my primary care doctor and my oncologist (NP) are not convinced that bone testing is necessary. It would be so comforting to know that my bones are free of breast cancer tumours. Is there some advise that you can share?

Would you see bone mets in a bone scintigram, I mean always? I just have a very bad gut feeling concerning my spine. I have the feeling as if one is pressing its fist into my back, it is no pain but constant pressure. And because of my breast cancer it scares me so much. Well, and thank you for showing your emotions.

I am on ibrance and faslodex, double masectomy and then a because I was hurting for 6 months had my regular doc xray my arm. I had a lesion that had almost completely destroyed my humerus. All my other tests were coming back normal. This was found on a standard x ray. I had a rod put in my arm 2 weeks later and 10 rounds of radiation. Shouldnt I be on something for bones? I have bone scan and pet scan scheduled this month. I hurt all over and have NO energy. I feel like its somewhere else now! I need something for energy. I know I should be walking but I STAY tired. Any suggestions?

Calcium is best absorbed in an acidic environment. For that reason, Tums (an ANTacid) are a very poor source of calcium.

Hi. Can I use muscle electroestimulation (russian waves and square waves to exercise) or is it too passive and high impact? What about a stationary bike?
