That creature egg you found is very unique. There’s only a couple eggs in the game and the creature doesn’t appear in any other way. Hatch it, you won’t be disappointed. There’s extra things you can do with it by removing it from containment, you just can’t get it back into containment though.

True. There are some events that a Player can easily miss, if he sticks to the Story. Personally, i hesitate to finish my own game, kept myself busy with other stuff. BUT... the Game gifted me with a truely heartwarming revelation. I dont regret playing it for more than just "build the rocket and leave".

Ask someone with a good bit of thalassophobia myself for me it’s always been not knowing what’s directly in the area around me. I am a part of slowly dying from exposure even though I love swimming, absolutely and lakes don’t bother me too much but open ocean is terrifying to me, so it might be similar for Josh once he knows all the scary things in the area. It’s a little less scary just a little less 👍🏻

Building a big Base by the Ghost Leviathan Tree is just the right decision, no nearby enemies, a whole lot of Drillable Resources and it goes so much deeper if you go further.

Yeah the stasis rifle is really useful for escapes and scans. Even the big fellas aren't immune so in a pinch you can always stun and run.

I'm loving this series, not only is it fun, we also see Josh growing braver and exploring more, he is also getting more accustomed with being in the ocean slowly conquering his thalassophobia. One a diferente note there is a game that is launching soon that I would love to see you guys play, that game being "Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince" it launches on December 1st of this year. I've played the demo and had a really great time, you could think of it as Monster Hunter Stories meets Dragon Ball (Akira Toriama Makes the monsters and characters) I have a feeling you guys are gonna like it. The tree cavern is a great place for a base. It's at the edge of the Seamoth's depth, there are plenty of very useful materials that are a pain to collect elsewhere, and it's nicely located near [Redacted]. Plus, it has multiple very good hotspots for thermal generators, which generate power without needing to be fuelled, so that's one less thing to deal with. And then there's the view. Your playthrough spurred me to do another myself, and I just got there as well. So I built an unnecessarily large base with a bunch of windows facing the tree.

Josh, the best place to put your base is in the Cove Tree! Just turn left from the gargantuan ribcage and you will find a brine area with blue brine, filled with ghost rays, and there's a giant tree with Ghost Leviathan eggs in the middle. It's very resource rich, no hostile fishes, and the brine there is safe for you to dive into. Also, the green brine is filled with sulfuric acid which is why it's deadly for you. The Cove tree is also the best route to the Lava castle. P.S. I dare you to scan the ghost leviathan juvenile and adult....

Ah the Tree Cove, one of if not the safest biome in the game (aside from the Safe Shallows and Islands), Great Place for a Base! Especially since there's enough thermal vents nearby to sustain your base with no issue!

If you can work up the courage to expose yourself to it, then nothing else in this game will seem as scary to you. If you managed to conquer your fear around a Ghost juvenile, then you are ready.

Seems like the comments recommend Giant Cove Tree as an ideal location for a permanent second main base. Safe from enemies, plentiful resources, and situated in a hot zone to power a thermal reactor that requires no material input to maintain. Aside from that, I believe the time has come to put that Stasis Rifle, a Thermoblade, and an inventory full of Gas Pods to start killing off those Leviathans pestering you!

Uh, I going to consider this a mini spoiler, because it explains leviathan AI, and why the previous Ghost was so aggressive. Explaining it might remove the terror of the creatures, so scroll down at your own risk: Creatures are designed to not kill you in one hit, if you're at full health. They charge you, do an attack, then the AI swims in the direction of its spawn point for several seconds. Charge, attack, retreat, repeat. The Ghost Leviathan in the previous episode got stuck on the terrain. So, it couldn't retreat after an attack, and thus cycled back to attack mode.

Fun fact: pretty much the same time that Earth became a habitable planet, life evolved. Like oddly fast. there’s a hypothesis that life got the basics started really early on in the universe when everything was close together and around the same temperature. Then it got frozen in asteroids and stuff. Those seeds end up on tons of planets, and the ones that end up nice like ours start evolving

Near the Tree, i placed a Dock high above the hot vents, so i can dock the Seamoth. From there, a long ladder connects it to a proper base, powered by limitless Thermal Energy. Now that you spotted and understand the lifecycle of Ghosts, i think we can give you a hint: Yes, you can meet grown up Ghosts. The have a special purpose and normally, you wouldnt interact with them, so you can complete the Game without ever seeing them. The Ocean that you traveled until now, is not suitable for adult Ghosts. You would have to travel further. Im sure others said it already. The Egg in the Laboratory is special. There are only 4-5 in the entire Game as far as i know. You already missed 1 and you were in a Location where a third one waits for its time to hatch. Personally, i know a fourth Location, i found it by accident while exploring. Not sure if there is a 5th one .... but there are some remote places on the Map that can be easily missed.
