Even the Sea Dragon sneaking up on you didnt shake you for long. 8:13 I don't know if you figured it out by now, but that skeleton is the mother of the egg in the alien facility. That Sea Dragon rammed her head on the facility causing it to flood and be destroyed, dying shortly after. Also the Warpers used to teleport infected creatures they found to the alien research facility, but since the facility was destroyed by the sea dragon they only teleport for a few meters. That's why they act like they do.

for those who don't know, there used to be a massive tunnel going from the front of the aurora directly down to the lava zone during development. its highly implied that the sea dragons would drag reapers that strayed too close to the hole down into the lava zone, where they would boil and be eaten alive. the ghost leviathans couldnt have been the ones to hunt reapers since they eat strictly phytoplankton and herbivorous material.

Sea Dragons (112m length) being significantly bigger than Caedeus size (65m lenght), and only engaging minimal effort in chasing Josh around because humans don't amount to much food, settling to just murdering everything not sizable enough with fireball, and grabbing big targets like other leviathan to eat. It's preferred area is the Inactive Lava Zone where reapers avoids like plague. Their most common meals IS reaper leviathans though, meaning that the Sea Dragon when hungry and fully awake can swim out into the open sea to grab some reapers to drag back home to consume (Since you can find Reaper skeletons and bones where Reapers would never go) and can spend 5 years without eating between each hunt due to their metabolism. Fun Fact the current size of the Sea Dragon is smaller then intended by the developers due to a bug, but was kept at that size to make it easier for the Sea Dragon to navigate the map in free roam without colliding everywhere in short that monster was initially intended to be even bigger. In Monster Hunter it would not be classified as an elder dragon (Being a freaky but still grounded creature) but would snack on some smaller elder dragon if given the chance (Not Unlike Rajang with Kirin). It would be specifically an underwater encounter that happen only a few times at most every 5 years when it would go hunt their lunch with Caedeus (65m length compared to the 55m length of the reaper and still barely smaller than Juvenile Ghost Leviathan (being 67m with the adult version being around 110-126m), making it at a similar range that could fell prey to the Sea Dragon) and any monster underwater around that size or closer to that size. While I bet some aquatic elder dragon monster may very much be an uphill battle (due to fantastic bullshit abilities), few monsters get close to 65m much less than the 112m of the Sea Dragon, meaning that the Sea Dragon just landed in a pond with many smaller fish than itself and barely any fish as big and even fewer that are bigger. While size is not the end all of danger and threat level it makes it that much harder to actually kill or stop and considering that it's territorial instinct push him toward killing anything that isn't a Sea Dragon (if detected) even if not to feed, it would be kind of high on the threat level with little possibility of coexisting in overlapping territories. The only Monsters that I can find that are on the same scale or bigger are: - Zorah Magdaros - Jhen Mohran - Dah'ren Mohran - Dalamadur - Laviente (Frontier Monster)

Yeah the fire ball leviathan you met is the live version of that sea dragon skeleton. Its not extinct like the other fossils. And yeah if I recall correctly that thousand year old sea dragon was the one who broke that facility that released the bacteria into the planet. It was pissed that the researchers stole its egg.

If you let the cuddlefish out of the tank and into the ocean, it will follow you everywhere, do tricks, and get treats. There are also at least 5 other cuddlefish eggs. And unfortunately, if you collect all the eggs and they all die, you can't find any more eggs in the wild. Spoiler: If you interact with it before leaving the planet on the rocket, it will hug you sadly, as it's loosing its friend.
