Narkel gur'er naru recipe: Coconut (narkel or narkol in Bengali) is a very important part of Bengali cooking and lifestyle in general. Bengalis are known for their chhana'r (cottage cheese) sandesh, but that is much more recent phenomenon. Sweets made from coconut and jaggery have been around for thousands of years. If you look at the simplicity of a recipe like narkel naru- made with just two ingredients and shaped with hands-you will quickly realise that this is something we have been eating for ages. There are so many more fancier sweets in the Bengali cook's repertoire now, and yet is there anything that signifies Bijoya Dashami better than this humble lump of coconut and sugarcane jaggery? Why do we keep reaching for the jar of naru when there is no dearth of intricate and refined desserts? It is because the naru connects us to all the people who came before us, who lived and loved ate narus here in this fertile land that we call home.

I follow each and every recipe of yours. Basically my grandma is also from Bikrampur, Bangladesh . She used to cook like this. From my childhood I always follow her ❤. Now, I am here in Germany but love cooking all the deshi foods. Whenever I forget the recipe, I find you ❤

I still don't understand why this channel is lacking subscriptions compared to others. May be quality takes some time to be recognized over quantity. Only to say, the content that you are creating here, is a proper documentation of bengali foods which anyone can access any time, and will be equally important for all the years to come. Your productions are integral part of bengali culture and need to be preserved and archived for the sake of it.

খুব সুন্দর। একটা সময়ের কথা মনে পড়ে গেলো। যখন মা হই তখন এই একটি জিনিস আমার কাছে অমৃত লাগত। জানি না কেন কিন্তু এটি ছাড়া দিনে অন্তত একটা ছাড়া ঘুম আসতো না। যাইহোক আপনাদের এই ভিডিওটি সেই সুখানুভূতি টাকে আবার মনে করিয়ে দিল। ধন্যবাদ

আমার মা নারকেল পাক দেওয়ার পর কড়াই থেকে নামিয়ে শীল নোরা তে বেটে নিয়ে তারপর নাড়ুর আকার এ তৈরী করেন... এতে মুখের ভিতর নাড়ু পড়তেই মাখনের মতো মিশে যায়। কেউ চাইলে চেষ্টা করতে পারেন। খেতে বেশ লাগে।🙂❤️

শুভ বিজয়া আপনাদের কেউ। আর অসংখ্য ধন্যবাদ এত সুন্দর ভাবে বাঙালি রেসিপি গুলো কে আমাদের সামনে তুলে ধরা, যেসব রান্নাগুলো শুধুমাত্র পুরনো হেসেল এই বন্দী হয়ে রয়ে গেল, আমাদের প্রজন্ম সেইসব রান্না আমাদের সঙ্গে হাঁটিয়ে নিয়ে আসতে পারছেনা। আর তারই মধ্যে ব্যতিক্রমী হয়ে আপনারা হারিয়ে যাওয়া সমস্ত রান্না কে তুলে ধরছেন সেটা সত্যি প্রশংসনীয়। অসংখ্য ধন্যবাদ

Ektu narkeler sandesh and regular sandesher recipe gulo baniyo please. I know how to make naru but still watched it just for the sheer pleasure. My mom has been using this receipe since she got married, my thakuma taught her and its perfect everytime. We use all the sugar while mixing the coconut.

In some parts of kerala we use this mixture as a filling inside elayada ( rice parcel made of rice flour with sweet filling inside and steamed in banana leaf). We will make ariyuda by adding roasted and powdered rice ,ghee and cardamom powder with this . Love it.

My mom cooks the jaggery first and then adds grated coconut and also we dont add sugar.. we add a bit of ghee.. the recipe is wonderful anyways.. lots of love to you bong eats.. my fav cooking channel..😁 proud to be bong..

That last platter...aah...yummm.....my no visit to cr park is complete without purchasing d naru.......In Goa, we hav d coconut naru but its without d jaggery n has sugar n/or sooji along...very staple for Diwali
