Can I use self rising flour? I just tried them in a cafe in St John’s and was the best I’ve eaten. It was soft and delicious. I hope I can duplicate!🩷naughty delicious 🤗
@bonitaskitchen3 ай бұрын
Hi and thank you so much for your message and for stopping by. I've not used self rising flour in this recipe but the flour do have salt and baking powder in it. The only thing about that is I'm not sure how mush of a difference it would be to change my ingredients to work for the fast rising flour you have. So my advice is to use all-purpose flour and follow the recipe I have there for you. But if thats all you have you can try using it but I can't say it would be the same. These a very tasty and I'm sure you would love them. All the best there and thank you. :) Bonita

I have wanted to make scones for myself forever but it looked so hard. I have everything I need except blueberries. But I have dried cranberries and rains. My question is do I Ned to rehydrate the cranberries and dawns. Or just use them dried? I have a hard time chewing them dried. Will they soften up enough if I leave them dried? Thank you for making these because I love that you make things easy so that we can make them!
@bonitaskitchen3 жыл бұрын
Hi Salina: Sorry I'm just getting to your message if you have a question you like answered sooner email bonitakitchen@gmail.com but yes dried cranberries or raisins will work and you can soak then in cold water for over night or a few hours or boil them in your saucepan for a few minutes, drain and then let cool before using them in the dough replacing the blueberries. I hope this helps and enjoy to the fullest. :) Bonita

Could i use gluten free flour? And do i need to adjust the wet ingredients to compensate the gluten free flour? I heard that it tends to be drier if use gluten free. Thanks so much for sharing the recipe. ♥️
@bonitaskitchen3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can make these with gluten free flour, if you have the al-purpose gluten free flour its good for breads, pasties and cakes. When you are mixing the ingredients slowly add the liquid and mix, if you need more add it but not all at once. I hope this helps and thank you for stopping by and enjoy to the fullest. :) Bonita

Hi Bonita. I forgot to tell you when I made the strawberry scones with this recipe. I used a tbsp of zest from the orange and used 2tbsp of the orange juice in the glaze. Loved it. My third time making your blueberry scones. Making them again tomorrow for the grandkids. I used the strawberries because I didn’t have the blueberries. But they were wonderful. Thank you

Have to make those....yummy! Never made them before so it will be a treat. I also love eating lemons. I was wondering if I could shape them into scones, freeze them, put them in a zip lock bag, then take a few out whenever I want to bake them.

Yummy! I have a recipe for orange glazed scones which calls for a little orange juice and plain or vanilla or peach yogurt in the batter. And then a little orange juice in your glaze. The yogurt breaks down the flour and makes the scones extremely soft and yummy. The only complaint I have is that the batter likes to climb up the beaters. Next time I'll try to mix it by hand.
