This was my mother's song, I remember when I was 4 years old, back in 1992. every Saturday morning she played it so loud that my sister and I could not sleep. Bon jovi's music always gave her strength and today I understand why! She died in 2011, rest in peace mom, we love you forever!

Keep The Faith is so underrated by today standard. I know it did pretty decent back then but somehow this is not considered a rock classic by many people. Sick baseline, catchy chorus, great lyrics, amazing guitar solo and not to mention that this is the song/album that saved Bon Jovi back in the day. This is when Bon Jovi decided to go for something more rather than just being known as a commercial band.

@ashley1994 I very well know that. I am 44 years old, was 14 when the album came out and could not stop listening to it. I just made special mention to their 80’s songs. I love them and adore the man. Unfortunately his voice is suffering tremendously, obviously for a combination of reasons and it pains me to see footage from his latest US tour. I am Greek and saw them back in 2011 in Athens, it was a dream come true.

The reason why I really like this song is because it embodies what I believe in life. It surrounds my thoughts about living in America hearing all the bad things that happens in America, my experience in war in "Nam, Desert Storm, and now Iraq and Afghanistan what soldiers experience believing in patriotism only to find leaders who don't give a damn about us only their self interests and not our lives, we have to "Keep the Faith".

lyrics❤ Mother, mother tell your children That their time has just begun I have suffered for my anger There are wars that can't be won Father, father please believe me I am laying down my guns I am broken like an arrow Forgive me Forgive your wayward son Everybody needs somebody to love (Mother, mother) Everybody needs somebody to hate (Please believe me) Everybody's bitching 'Cause they can't get enough And it's hard to hold on When there's no one to lean on Faith, you know you're gonna live through the rain Lord you got to keep the faith Faith, don't you let your love turn to hate Now we've got to Keep the faith Keep the faith Keep the faith Lord, we've gotta keep the faith Tell me baby when I hurt you Do you keep it all inside? Do you tell me "All's forgiven" And just hide behind your pride Yeah Everybody needs somebody to love (Mother, father) Everybody needs somebody to hate (Please don't leave me) Everybody's bleeding 'Cause the times are tough Well it's hard to be strong When there's no one to dream on Faith, you know you're gonna live through the rain Lord, you've got to keep the faith Don't you know it's never too late Right now, we've got to keep the faith Faith, don't you let your love turn to hate Love, you've got to keep the faith Keep the faith Keep the faith Oh, we've got to keep the faith Keep the faith Keep the faith Lord, we've got to keep the faith Ooh yeah Ooh yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah I've been walking in the footsteps Of society's lies I don't like what I see no more Sometimes I wish that I was blind Sometimes I wait forever To stand out in the rain So no one sees me cryin' Trying to wash away the pain Mother, father There's things I've done I can't erase Every night we fall from grace It's hard with the world in your faith Trying to hold on, trying to hold on Faith, you know you're gonna live through the rain Lord, you got to keep the faith Faith, don't you let your love turn to hate Right now we've got to keep the faith Faith, keep the faith, keep the faith Try to hold on, trying to hold on Yeah Keep the faith Keep the faith Everybody keep the faith Keep the faith Keep the faith Ooh yeah Everybody needs somebody to love Everybody needs somebody to hate (ooh yeah).

In the uptake of grunge, not many understood or accepted the massive change in Bon Jovi style. However, massive change was required to keep melodic rock a thing. I feel Jon Bon Jovi successfully saw the future and not only transitioned the grunge period, but outshine it. Not just a masterpiece, but a definite shout out that melodic is still king. Shame some massive 80's stars couldn't react the same way. With a great songwriter, beautiful bassline and amazing full on-influential drummer, Nirvana were a top band. However...Subsequently, years on Bon Jovi proved to be far superior and still relevant.

when you are bon jovi, you will always have an audience, even if the audience is older. grunge was edgy, but bon jovi was still cool. I hear ya brother!

Grunge ruined everything. Sure there were very significant bands born in that era, but so much melancholy and depression overshadowed everything. Thank God that we were blessed with soulful positive energy from Bon Jovi at the time. ✌🏻🇺🇸

You know it's a funny thing, i was sitting on the bench outside my building listening to this on the radio and a woman who just moved in here her window was open, said to me your music is disturbing everyone, not true, what a great, spiritual much needed song these days and by the by, everyone else around loved me singing this to bon jovi, a very hard working musician with a spectacular vocal ability, band great too, one of the best songs for a graceless, generation of lonely people whom are vulnerable and we all need each other so much more than ever, very very much appreciated!, Terri Leckner, Montreal

"Keep The Faith" Mother, mother, tell your children That their time has just begun I have suffered for my anger There are wars that can't be won Father, father, please believe me I am laying down my guns I am broken like an arrow Forgive me Forgive your wayward son Everybody needs somebody to love (mother, mother) Everybody needs somebody to hate (please believe me) Everybody's bitching 'Cause they can't get enough And it's hard to hold on When there's no one to lean on Faith: you know you're gonna live through the rain Lord, we've gotta keep the faith Faith: don't you let your love turn to hate Now we've gotta keep the faith Keep the faith Keep the faith Lord we've gotta keep the faith Tell me baby when I hurt you Do you keep it all inside Do you tell me all's forgiven Just hide behind your pride Everybody needs somebody to love (mother, father) Everybody needs somebody to hate (please don't leave me) Everybody's bleeding 'Cause the times are tough Well it's hard to be strong When there's no one to dream on Faith: you know you're gonna live through the rain Lord we've gotta keep the faith Faith! Don't you know it's never too late Right now we've gotta keep the faith Faith: don't you let your love turn to hate Lord we've gotta keep the faith Keep the faith Keep the faith Oh, we've gotta keep the faith Keep the faith Keep the faith Lord we've gotta keep the faith I've been walking in the footsteps Of society's lies I don't like what I see no more Sometimes I wish I was blind Sometimes I wait forever To stand out in the rain So no one sees me cryin' Trying to wash away this pain Mother father (Everybody needs somebody to love) There's things I've done I can't erase (Everybody needs somebody to hate) Every night we fall from grace (Everybody's bitching 'cause they can't get enough) It's hard with the world in your face (Everybody bleeds) Trying to hold on, trying to hold on (Everybody, keep the pain) Faith: you know you're gonna live through the rain Lord you’ve gotta keep the faith Faith: don't you let your love turn to hate Right now we've gotta keep the faith Faith Keep the faith Keep the faith Trying to hold on, trying to hold on Faith Keep the faith Keep the faith Everybody, keep the faith Faith Keep the faith Keep the faith Faith (Everybody needs somebody to love) (Everybody needs somebody to hate) (Everybody needs somebody to love) (Everybody bleeds) (Everybody, keep the faith) Faith Faith Writer(s): Jon Bon Jovi, Richard S. It's powerful because there is a lot of Bon Jovi's Christian upbringing that goes into the lyrics "Don't you let your love turn to hate" very similar to the words of Jesus Christ.

Incredible song. It must have been very tough for them to abandon the rapidly dying glam rock band stereotype to become something new, more mature but still Bon Jovi. This record had to nail the transformation, a do or die situation but they came through luckily for us.
