The show doesn't go into what it does in the english (don't know in the japanese) but it basically increases your chances of getting what you need to survive to the next turn / win, depending on how bad of a situation you are in, how high the stacks are and how skilled you are at the game you are playing, the higher each of those factors in, the more likely you are to get what you need.

Cheeky Rachel... "as long as this top deck is another Living Death". When it was Mana Drain'ed the first time she knew she could try to cast it again as long as she survived Craig's turn. The pieces were already there, the milling just added more wood to the fire. You call it a comeback, I call it a well executed plan B. Love seeing Rachel's decks and gameplay, such a great player. Also, always love Murph's decks, though he needs to get meaner and less cute. Take a page from Rachel's playbook: at least 4 "save my team from board wipes" in small creature attack decks and more interaction. Great video!

I've been seeing this a lot on various KZbin channels of late (including the Prof's recent Modern vid), and it's not usually significant, but you **pay one life** to crack a fetch land. You don't take 1 damage. Likewise with Ancient tomb, which deals you 2 damage (which counts as losing life, but not the other way around). I'm playing with a Modern combo right now with Tamanoa where this distinction is important.

In his intro, Craig implies that Thassa, Deep-Dwelling will enable him to get round unearth's exile effect. But the creature is exiled at the beginning of the next end step or if it would leave the battlefield, so it wouldn't work. Plus it would still be the beginning of the End step anyway, as presumably multiple "beginning of End step" effects can be played in any order. And Sundial of the Infinite would only work until the beginning of the next player's End step. In the game none of this happened anyway. As always though, an excellent game.
@helderboymh
@helderboymh Жыл бұрын
You can stack the triggers so that thassa's happens first and then she exiles the creature and return it to the battlefield. It's now considered a new permanent that is unaffected by what happened to the card before it was exiled. So it will stay if you do it right. Sundail would have to be activated when the end of turn trigger of unearth is on the stack. If you activate it before that it'll just trigger at the beginning of the end step of the next player.
