The phrase "one nation under God" is part of the Pledge of Allegiance. The phrase was added to the pledge in 1954, during the Cold War. Some members of Congress wanted to differentiate the United States from the Soviet Union, which was officially atheistic. It wasn't from our founding fathers.

Many founding fathers were Deists. Revolutionary War historians have stated that if Darwin had been alive when the United States was founded then most of the founding fathers would have been atheists. The founding fathers were intelligent, educated, believed in science. They vehemently wanted to keep church and state separate because they had witnessed religious zealotry, bigotry, persecution.
