This whole Bonney for nakama is a passing hype train there’s nothing of substance or importance to it to care… And yes it does take away from every other characters unique idenity and individuality that makes them special if all things turn into is a Nika clone feast… There’s nothing fun or interesting about that when everyone literally has the same copy pasted broken power setup across the board… that lazy writing for the sake of shock value and fked levels of headcanon…. I don’t want to see characters go insane in the route where brook or sanji or anyone else is getting turned into a Nika clone that’s literally just fan headcanon… They can go insane on their own merits and struggles as themselves by their own means instead of having to hit the Nika button…. They need more screen time and a big W at that. Easy as that. For example, imagine the weakest trio taking down one of top 5 BM general, or top 3 Tobiroppos on a full scale fight. Double panel/page and all. Look at Titanic crew. It took just One grand panel screen time to show their prowess. Bonney is a great example too! Other SH would always take a whole arc to be just half aszed comparable at the end of every arc. So NO! We don't need Bonney and her pacifistas to be added to the crew! Its too much. ViVi would be a better choice.

And who’s to say that everyone will just be Nika? She could give anyone any powers she/they wants them to have, swapping powers around, enhancing them or even taking them away allowing them to swim or avoid having powers ripped away, or giving them back if that happens. Not to mention swordsmanship and Haki. The only limit is her imagination, even without the Nika powers. This could be an opportunity to add a lot of variety to the crew’s power set, throwing Blackbeard pirates and World Government completely off their game, as they’ll have no idea how to adapt unless they take out Bonney.

My personal issue with the 4 4 4 theory is that it wouldn't let Oda live up to the "10 crewmates should do" line from when Luffy set off on his adventure, and Oda said he finds it difficult to write compelling arcs for every strawhat in each arc which is why they were split up for Wholecake and Dressrosa. That being said, Whitebeard, Roger, and Shanks all have/had larger crews than Luffy, so maybe we'll get 12 total members under Luffy by the end. (Obviously not including the Grand Fleet)

There is literally NOTHING that Bonney or any other character has going for them in terms of setup and obvious signs compared to Yamato… Carrot has 8 years of hype for her and that came crashing down.. and Pedro of all characters to claim that’s utterly ridiculous…. Oda wasn’t trolling with Yamato and her story back on wano that was a deliberate choose if you bother to read the context clues… She’s setup to be join like jinbei staying behind to complete her pilgrimage and then leave wano. All the countless times she said she was leaving and putting her freedom on hold to keep wano safe which was a personal sacrifice… She still made it clear in chapter 1059 flash back she still wanted to sail with them and be a pirate and she even got an open invitation from luffy when he left wano… It’s a simple delayed join like jinbei did on top of the fact she’s the only other character who is aware of luffys real dream which no one else outside of luffys crew and sabo poccess the information… She’s already oden direct parallel and will do exactly that for luffys crew as oden did for Roger in their final leg of the journey… to say she isn’t is utterly rubbish…. No to mention she was directly drawn with the straw hats in the chapter 1103 color spread basically spoiling it for her…. She’s not just a one and done side character like Bonney is… everything we think Bonney has Yamato did that and so much more she even got a proper tragic flash back personally all to herself… More or less a real dream being inspired directly by oden to be free and explore the world for herself and a position hinted at being the logkeeper/chronicler as evidenced by her fascination and admiration of odens logbook (even having the last few pages torn out as a hint to her filling in the missing history left out) So to just write her off like she won’t make her way back to them just like jinbei did in favor of jumping on the Bonney hype train just like carrot and countless others who lack what she does is mind boggling… 😕

We are really riding this Bonney for nakama hype train for all its worth… None of those reasons are anything remotely sufficient enough for her to be considering a main character and anything other then a arc specific one off side character aka the companion archetype like law and countless others… Her small sample size of in arc characterization is so week and shallow and compared to other character more less a typical straw hat character she hasn’t hit all the proper benchmarks remotely… She’s not even the primary focus of the flashback it was kuma she was purely a byproduct… and that wasn’t a traditional tragic backstory to begin with… And mind you if reasons like being a glutton or other reasons are enough to convince yourself she is straw material that’s a utter joke… If anything she’ll be joining the revs after the arc is over. It could make nika feel really unspecial and make Luffy”s power feel insignificant 2. It feels like her lvl of importance just rose higher than any other straw hat except Luffy. 3. This really took away from Franky and choppers possible spotlight or even a chance to get new weapons or gear during egghead 4. This could take away from a lot of the other straw hats down the line. 5. If she starts making other people g5, like the crew and maybe the whole grand fleet during the final war it would just make her the new main character instead of Luffy. That being said the moment itself was a great moment.
