A haunting melody on the piano. I first heard this track on a freebie flexi disc given out with one of the music papers of the 70s. Either Melody Maker, NME, or Sounds. Cant remember which. Was offered a vinyl LP with this on, and I didnt buy it, much to my later regret. Some tracks are such quality, they stick with you after 40 years.

I got the floppy 33rpm disc in Melody Maker, free gift. A few years ago I bought a record player that would plug into computer and convert vinyls to MP3 format. Used it to convert many of my old 45's and 33's onto cd's !! Well worth the effort.

I've been searching for this song for 40 years, since I was 10. It was given away in a girls' magazine on the B side of a more famous song. I fell in love with it, but unfortunately it belonged to my sister who gave it away. Can't believe I've finally found it again, and it's just as beautiful as I remember it!

"The seagulls' farewell cry echoed round the bay" Lovely song. Thank you for uploading, I only have the acetate from the 70s and I don't think my husband would appreciate me playing that on his precious turntable.

I bought this album with it released back in 1972 it Flopped as you would expect sadly. No Tastes. 😕 Bonnie Charlie was and remains my Favourite track on the album for obvious reasons I think, For anyone who night happen to read this comment if The Manfreds are playing near you go along as Mike is selling this excellent album on CD. ❤️

Amazon UK's offering Somewhere on CD as an import, to be released 29 May 2012. Mad price though - £42.

It might well be, but I've spent years googling "Goodbye Bonny Charlie" and never found this. Eventually I typed in all the words I could remember from the verse and, hey presto! Perhaps if you do the same thing? You is Sad Song by?

,It is a great source of frustration to me that this epic album is not considered worthy of transferring onto cd by the record company, how dare they gripe that pirates are killing music when they don't make it available , download torrents are the only way to hear this masterpiece, albeit in poor quality, so if anyone has a good mp3 version i would be very appreciative

Question about the lyrics: Is it: "Like something from a fairy tail" or "Like something from a fairy tale"? I don't know what is "fairy tail", sorry! Thanks for your reply.
