Bonnie's Mystery Crochet Along!

Come join Bonnie starting October 4, 2021 for a MYSTERY CROCHET ALONG! There are many hints of this project in the video, but here are the yarn requirements:
You choose 5 different colors plus an additional trim color (that will compliment all your chosen colors - a dark or strong neutral usually works best). You will need approximately 1000 yards of each color (or 5 balls of the recommend yarn - link below). I will be using a worsted/Aran weight yarn available here: www.lovecrafts... (affiliate link)

I'm excited about this. I've been working a lot and I'm ready to just relax and crochet. I've never done a crochet along, but it sounds like fun. My granddaughter picked out the colors. Mint, liliac, light blue, pink, light teal and off white. She's 11. She said whatever I make will look amazing. Gotta love her.

Glad I saw this post this morning. I’m going to crochet along. I have a stash of neutrals my daughter bought but gave up her project. I’m not keen on the neutrals but I would like to make something out of it for her. We are also in lockdown in Melbourne so no shops are open to get new yarn. You can try that, but it may be a bit more busy than you will like. Depending on the yarn it can make it harder to see the texture of the stitches.

Yes, that is correct Vanessa! Of course you can make a smaller or larger blanket by simply making fewer or more squares! I tried to build in some overage in that number to account for different crocheting stylers. You may have some left over.😊

Great question Linda! I would personally steer away from variegated yarns and go for solids instead. While I love variegated yarns, it does tend to compete a bit too much (depending upon the yarn) with the texturized stitches we will be working.

Not a fan of square blankets, or squares joined together...ugh.

I understand Poka Gal, which is why I don't do these too often. That said, the squares will be much fewer than the blankets with tiny squares. You can make as many or as few as you wish. Only 6 - 9 of these squares will make a nice lap blanket.
