I've made tons of these and given them away . Some friends use them as wash cloths and some for dishes in many different patterns . 🤗💕. They are great for over night guest to take with them .

Why not do a single crochet all the way across on the perimeter round

I believe this is what I did except for the ch-1 corners. This is only a personal preference. You can always add a sc for the ch-1 instead if you choose Karen.
