Then again...standing kids in the corner is such a big no go for me. Thats humiliating. We're not in the 50s anymore. www.kidspot.com.au/parenting/parenthood/discipline/disciplining-kids-why-the-naughty-corner-doesnt-work/news-story/7d19e8b71c8e45161e974ba

Schneeflocke 103 Different things work for different families. I have seen the corner technique work with children. It may not be for you as a parent, and that is ok, but if it works for them they have a right to do that. It isn't going to scar the kids for life. Their kids seem well adjusted so they are definitely doing something right! ☺

Schneeflocke 103 there is not too many Joel's in this world 🌎 unfortunately. Lovely guy 👍🏻
@ashleyk9247 жыл бұрын
and that right there is the reason we have so many entitled idiots now who think the world revolves around them. Discipline your child so they do not grow up to be spoiled selfish brats who take no self responsibility!
@schneeflocke10367 жыл бұрын
Ashley Koester there are ways to do that without doing things like corner time out, letting your baby scream to "teach him how to sleep" etc. Kids have voices too . And they are entitled to show that in a respectful way.

I actually really love how disciplined Bonnie's children are! There are other moms out there on KZbin who obviously let their children do WHATEVER they want and pick their battles with their kids instead of being firm with them in all instances where discipline is clearly necessary. From what I see, Bonnie's children are so respectful and kind and do their best to learn from the lessons that Bonnie and Joel teach them!

You guys! From what you said Bonnie, you may never see this comment but I feel like you are my best friends! I'm only a teenager but you two (and the kids) make me happy every single day. I look forward to 1pm here in the UK because I know, oh I can watch Bonnie and Joel. I feel like I've known you forever and even though I will most probably never meet you, I'd like you to know that I really love watching the small part of your day I see. This comment is probably really dramatic and soppy but this is genuinely how much I love watching you guys. I think the way you live your life and teach your 'kiddos' (I know you hate that word aha) is truly admirable. I think when you put yourself in the public eye, it's okay to question people's decisions, behaviour because it's the beautiful thing about being a part of a society. But sooo many people don't know HOW to criticize constructively without being NEGATIVE. This is why I love youtube - learning about other people's lifestyles.

So 1 month ago, my dad went to jail for many reasons, I'm not going to say them because it's too much information. My mom kept thinking about a divorce and when she told me, i didnt really care because I'm still going to see him when he gets out of jail, it's 1 year of jail time I believe. Yesterday in the mail, my dad sent me a letter from jail saying he's depressed and all of that illnesses. I believed him because I have anxiety and it runs in the family. But watching your videos helped me a lot and not to focus on my dad's problems and other stuff. So thank you Bonnie

I love that you two are so open, this was refreshing to listen too. I love that you two are on the same page there is nothing fake or phoney either about you two being the way you are. I Love that you guys are open about the displcining of your children and you have shared a tiny bit of that and that's been an eye opening to see, I personally love how you guys addressed everything. You've always shown how real you are. I loved that Bonnie thinks about her kids when she's telling a story in the vlogs for them in the future to hear. I love that Joel is just as equal as to you, i love that he does his part and he knows where he fits. AND I LOVE THAT. I think with so much blacklash and negativity Bonnie gets she's as real as she gets there's nothing fake and i enjoy that. Bonnie, Thank you for being out there with everything, the realness of you and your family with Joel and the kids i love that you are who you are. I've had an ex friend of mine who recently called you out to be a bad parent for trying to help Olivia. It killed me to read some of these things she had to say, It just fills my heart to see the content you put up and to see your children, i don't think having high standards for your children isn't harsh it makes them feel like they can do better, they will do better and you and Joel will be proud of them regardless. THANK YOU

I find it so interesting when people open up about their religious believes on youtube/other social media channels because I'm from a place where being religious is not very common, at all. Growing up I had 2-3 friends who were christians, but even they didn't go to church every Sunday or lived their religion in a very serious way (I would say). So hearing people open up about how their lives are and why they choose to live their lives a certain way captures my attention right away, I wish more people would speak about it but it is a very personal and sacred thing and I 100% understand why people chose not to. Mormonism is something I didn't know anything about, hadn't even heard of it till i started watching the Shaytards 7 or so years back. So thank you Bonnie and Joel for talking about it. I love your videos, you have such a beautiful family that you should be very very proud of. All love xx

Bonnie I am a teenager watching your channel. I’m 19, and I don’t have the best parents to be honest. They didn’t teach me much, they weren’t the best examples, and although I love them I just understand that they didn’t want to be parents. They didn’t want the responsibility of teaching and guiding someone through life. I think you and Joel have taught me a lot! How to be a good parent in the future, how to be loving to my future husband, how to be a lady (while also being a bit sassy lol) and how to be HAPPY. I love y’all! And I love watching your videos. ❤️

Hi Bonnie. I don't know if you'll see this but I wanted to let you know how much you have helped me. I loved when you were talking about how you think of all the moms who watch your channel. I have always been terrified of being a mom. I was scared to be pregnant and give birth and deal with a baby because I am terrible with kids. I am the youngest in my family and of all of my cousins so I never grew up around little kids. Watching you with your kids and seeing how much work and love you put into them and how much love they give you back has really helped me get over a lot of my fears. I have always wanted to be a mom of teenagers but now I'm less scared of one day having children of my own. I just wanted to thank you and Joel for being brave enough to put your lives out in the world to perfect strangers. Love you. 😘

I'm not a mom, but I agree with the discipline you show your kids. We need more people like you guys who are not afraid to show some tough love to their kids. That's the way I was raised and that's the way I will raise my kids. Keep it up! Also, Joelie! He's so sweet! Tears when he was talking about you. I've been with you all from the beginning and you are probably the only channel I watch faithfully. Cute cute cute!

Thanks for sharing your answers with us. The way you are bringing up your children is exactly how i was. Strict but never cruel. With lots of love&laughter. Going to Mass every Sunday with my fam was a true blessing. And i guess I'm not in your demographics since I'm 58, but i feel so intune with you all, young at heart! 💗🤗

My boyfriend and I have the same sitting VS. standing height problem so that part made me giggle. He always asks me to slouch down when we're sitting. 😂 Love you guys!!

Oh my how I love you guys. Most of the answers I knew already but it was still a great video! I'm okay with anyone's religion but I'm glad that what we get to see is it. I myself am not religious in the most common sense. I do believe that there is more between heaven and earth but I'm not practicing anything. I live my life the way I want. I have a strong sense of right and wrong and as long as things feel right it's good. Although the video where Cody had a rough day and you talked about it was very touching. You were still working on your house with the empty kitchen/ living room and sitting on the floor. Olivia stated crying... hope you know what video I'm taking about. I'm a huge sceptic but it touched my heart that day. I'm glad you were able to work through your struggles and are still as in love and devoted to each other as you are today! Thank you for sharing your life with us! (Sorry if it doesn't makes sense what I wrote, I'm from the Netherlands...)
