Whoever came up with the idea of having the entire video based on the interaction of two bonsai enthusiasts on extreme opposite ends (asymmetrical education and experience) deserves a prize. These series allow less experienced bonsai artists to relate. Thank you for the content.

Wow number 1 best videos out there! It really teaches you the way they did it with a beginner. Love it!

I've seen many intro to bonsai videos on KZbin which provide valuable info. The Strength in this video is really hearing the voice of someone who is new to bonsai expressing many of the self doubts and concerns that I'm going through being new to bonsai and having those issues directly being addressed. Thanks for the video.

When I was younger and first getting into bonsai this stuff didn’t exist, nor did Mirai. I’ve fallen back into the hobby at the perfect time. Lots of content to back learn and new content that’s in its best form. Thanks Ryan.

This kind of instructional video is exactly what I've been looking for the past 9 years... Thank you!! I look forward to see more videos, with beginner guidances, like with Josh. Actually, I'd love if you would make more videos, where you guide Josh (from picking the material and all the way to the final piece, exactly like the step-by-step video you're making here). Let me know if I can offer you any kind of assistance/help. Note that I live in Denmark, with my Japanese wife. Cheers Simon.

Such a great video, thank you for everything! Ryan is a great coach, i work in a hr cabinet and I can tell MOST of the bosses don’t know how to teach their people how to improve in their job, but Ryan does; he never responds with an answer, but with a question and to me thats brillant.

I've been doing lots of research for the first set of bonsai tools I plan to buy. One thing I've been struggling with is the decision to buy a concave cutter or the spherical concave cutter. If I can get feedback from Ryan or anyone else in the comment section it would be greatly appreciated! Keep up the great work I look forward to each new video you come out with.

Great video! Loving this series so far! So informative and engaging! Is it safe to do the cleanup pruning anytime of the year? I've been buying a lot of nursery stock lately, here in Australia it's the middle of summer and I'm not sure if I should just let it sit and wait till the right season or get into cleaning??😁

What are the "stubs"? The left over from removing branches or what I would call "nubs"? I have a mature juniper (20+ years), that has little nubs all up and down the branches. Do they need to be cut off?
