Bonsai in a Terrarium - reusing old jars for mini terrariums

In this video I built a small terrarium with some moss and a Ficus microcarpa in an old jar.

I have a few similar ones going! Ficus really work well in these kind of jars. They start to throw out aerial roots quite quickly with increased humidity as well.

I'm surprised how well it is doing. It looks healthier than the one in the pot next to my desk, probably due to the high humidity.

@@glassyGREEN_ Yep! That's 100% why! Ficus come from tropical areas so you can't give them enough humidity. Mine live on the windowsill under jars and get full sun even in summer when the humidity goes though the roof! Try some Ficus Benjamin next and you'll see they go even more crazy!

@@IndoorEcosystem Thanks for the tip, I'll try that. Don't you have problems with heat when the jars get full sun?

@@glassyGREEN_ I'm in Poland so we don't get any extreme sunshine. But they get 6 hours a day during summer. Haven't had any issues yet. But I started these at the end of August
